Crysis 2 Part 5: Follow the Second Chance walkthrough to find the first Dog Tag, learn about Tactical Options, and get the Scarab.
Walkthrough
- 1After blacking out, you regain consciousness in a warehouse on New York’s Battery Park Pier. Prophet is dead, and you, Alcatraz, have inherited the Nanosuit.
- 2Retrieve the first “Dog Tag” from the bloody table near Prophet’s corpse. You start with an empty M 12 Nova pistol.
- 3Press the “Look” button to find your exit. Break the padlock with a melee blow and proceed through the chamber with corpse-filled mesh containers.
- 4Crouch as prompted and exit the area.
- 5Use the glowing laptop on the central table to learn about the Manhattan contagion and Commander Lockhart’s martial law.
- 6Go up the stairs. Dr. Gould will attempt to contact Prophet.
- 7Leap across the gap.
- 8Push through the doors amidst gunfire; Dr. Gould will instruct you to find the Marines.
- 9Continue through the next door, grab the ledge as prompted, and boost into the hallway overhead.
- 10Open the door and emerge into sunlight. The narrator will announce your Nanosuit is online and the HUD (Heads-Up Display) is operational, providing tactical options.
- 11During a brief cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically), two Cell soldiers below will not spot you. They will kill a civilian and move away. The camera will show the “Resupply” option (an ammo crate).
- 12Use the visor to “tag” the two hostiles for easier tracking on your HUD and minimap (radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked)).
- 13Select “Resupply” on the HUD to acquire ammo for your M 12 Nova handgun from the ammo box. Raid it again to top off your spare ammo. Always load your gun with inventory ammo first if you have any spare.
- 14Stay behind munitions crates for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects). Hit “Select” to see weapon options; the M 12 Nova has no stealth capability yet.
- 15You have a choice: select “Take” to get a Scarab assault rifle early, or avoid confrontation and get a Scarab at the waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) ahead.
- 16To reach the waypoint without incident: drop off the barrier wall southeast of “Resupply,” jump to the narrow walkway along the shoreline, take to the water when it ends, and climb back onto the walkway farther along.
- 17If you select “Take,” you will likely confront the Cell troopers. Note their positions via the triangular icon on your HUD and minimap. When they move off, head towards the tactical waypoint, crouching behind the low stonewall. Ascend the short stairwell to acquire the Scarab near the statue.
- 18Your main objective is the blue waypoint on your map. Take cover along the block wall south of the statue, crouching to either elude or ambush patrolling Cell operatives as you pass wrecked tanks.
- 19Unless you linger, battling the two Cell operatives is optional. You can easily elude them or hunt them.
- 20As you enter “Castle Clinton,” the Nanosuit will override and reboot, enabling the “Cloak” ability as you move inside. The narrator will explain the enemy awareness meter and the cloak.
Tips
- Tactical Options are suggestions for weapons, ammo, flanking routes, stealth, exits, and observation points. You can tag an option with your visor, and its distance will appear on the HUD when in range.
- The range for tracking tagged hostiles is about half of what the game’s minimap displays.
- Always load your gun with inventory ammo before raiding an ammo crate if you have spare ammo to ensure you carry the maximum reserve rounds.
- When you acquire new weapons, use “Select” to check their available options.
- You can choose to confront the two Cell troopers early for a Scarab or bypass them to get one later at a waypoint.
