Uncover the protagonist's past in Death Howl. This guide details the journey through the Realm of Piercing Winds, including key locations, side quests, and challenges.
The protagonist, Ro, is on a quest to save her son and must first strengthen herself in the Realm of Piercing Winds before braving The Howling Mountain. This guide covers the initial steps within this new area.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin by entering the Realm of Piercing Winds through The Breathing Chasm. Fast travel to the northern Sacred Grove in the Meadows of Delusion and head north until the terrain changes.
- 2Activate the first Sacred Grove in The Breathing Chasm by heading northeast. Loot crafting materials from a cave accessible by clicking on a rock.
- 3To start the Reap or Weep side quest, head northeast to a small empty section and interact with the large creature that appears. Retrieve its lost eyes from a hidden cave near the northwestern Sacred Grove. You will need to defeat enemies within the cave to retrieve the Reaping Eye. Return to the quest giver to complete the quest and receive the Opal Totem.
- 4To start the Two-Headed Spear hidden side quest, make your way to the third Sacred Grove in the southwest part of the map. Read the inscription on the rock to learn about the two spear pieces. Find the two Spear Head quest cards, one near the nest at the entrance of the zone and another below the northwestern Sacred Grove. Combine them during a battle to form the Two-Headed Spear. Interact with the rock inscription again to enter a cave, defeat the enemies, and receive three Teardrop upgrade points as a reward.
- 5Proceed to The Hidden Vale, the next zone in the Realm of Piercing Winds.
Tips
- Save up Death Howl to unlock cards and Teardrop upgrades in the region. Consider grinding Death Howl before entering the zone.
- If you struggle with the ambush after collecting the Reaping Eye, discard the quest card and leave the cave to return later when you are stronger.
- The Bear Skull Totem can be found in a nest along the upper path in The Breathing Chasm. It grants 3 Block when killed.
- A free Teardrop point can be obtained by talking to the Moose spirit near the northwestern Sacred Grove in The Breathing Chasm.
