Your friendly guide to conquering Stormy Shore in Donkey Kong Country Returns. Learn enemy patterns, find all collectibles, and beat Squiddicus!

Alright, welcome to Stormy Shore! This is the thirteenth level in the game and the fifth in the Beach world. It comes after Cannon Cluster and before Blowhole Bound. If you're aiming for those shiny medals in Time Attack, you'll need to finish in 1:11:00 for gold, 1:26:00 for silver, and 2:00:00 for bronze. ## Overview The first part of Stormy Shore is pretty standard, but don't get too comfortable. Things get wild when Squiddicus shows up! This big octopus is the main troublemaker for the rest of the level. You'll first see it in the background messing with a ship, but then it notices you and Diddy Kong and decides to make your life difficult. ## Walkthrough Head right into the cave. You'll need to jump over some Jellybobs. Keep going until you reach a grassy wall. Climb up, then hop to the left to grab the 'K' Kong letter. Continue climbing on the left side, and at the very top, you'll find your first Puzzle Piece. Drop down the other side and grab three Banana Coins. Now, head back to the right. This time, jump to the right side of the level. You'll pass a DK Barrel. See that flat stone platform on the floor? It looks like there's a hole just below it. Go ahead and pound on that platform to drop into a secret area below. Move right into the Bonus Room. Your goal here is to collect all eighty bananas, two Banana Coins, and an Extra Life Balloon within thirty seconds. Use the platforms to navigate the room. Successfully doing this will reveal your second Puzzle Piece. After the Bonus Room, you'll pop out right before the checkpoint. Go past the Tutorial Pig and a Pinchly, then hop onto the raised stone platform to your right. Now, jump back to the left to snag the 'O' Kong letter floating in the air. Continue right, keeping an eye on Squiddicus in the background as it sinks a ship. You'll need to jump across some floating platforms. Later on, you'll find some Squidlies; use them to bounce up and grab an Extra Life Balloon. Now, jump into the barrel cannon in the water. When the barrel is pointing straight up, fire! You'll launch up to the top of a wave and into your third Puzzle Piece. Drop back down into the same barrel cannon. This time, when it's facing right, fire again. Pound on the wooden peg that appears, and you'll reveal another one along with your fourth Puzzle Piece. Quickly move to the right, jumping past some Snaps.
