Part 36

Complete walkthrough for Part 36 of Donkey Kong Country Returns, covering Bobbing Basalt and Moving Melters levels. Find all puzzle pieces, KONG letters, and bonus areas.

Walkthrough:

Bobbing Basalt

1. At the start, ground-pound the vase to the left for a puzzle piece.
2. In the first area with walls emerging from the ceiling, jump off a tiki doom's head to get a puzzle piece above it.
3. Ground-pound the DK platform to make a slab drop. Climb it quickly as it sinks to collect items and a puzzle piece.
4. After a checkpoint, jump off a sinking platform at its apex to reach a blast barrel leading to a bonus area.
5. Carry a DK barrel through the next areas. At a path split, take the top path. Navigate the fireballs and throw the barrel at a wall to reveal another bonus area.
6. Go back to a windmill. Blow on it continuously to make bananas and a puzzle piece drop.
7. After sinking platforms, blow on a helicopter plant to reveal a puzzle piece.

KONG Letters:

• N: In the next section, time your jump to grab the N after a lavafall.
• G: After the KONG letters section, run across a falling platform. The G is after a gap; short hop to grab it.
• K: In an area with erratically moving rocks, jump up to grab the K above the platform.
• O: Jump and grab the O while it's at the top of its trajectory, near a wall coming from the ceiling.
• N: Head back to a platform with two tiki goons. Take the lower path on sinking platforms to find the N.
• G: After tall sinking platforms, roll-jump off the first one to get the G.

Moving Melters

1. Start with a barrel. Jump onto a long platform in the lava; it breaks into pieces. Smash a suspended bag with the barrel to get a puzzle piece.
2. Continue forward; most platforms sink. Roll-jump left off a wheel to get a puzzle piece below the next set of moving platforms.
3. After scaling wheels, the O is above the top platform. Blow out the char-char, then jump.
4. Stay on a large wheel for almost its full rotation to get a puzzle piece.
5. After the checkpoint, jump left and blow on a windmill to reach a bonus area.

KONG Letters:

• K: Above a wheel, jump to grab the K.
• O: After scaling wheels, the O is above the top platform. Blow out the char-char, then jump to get it.
• N: Fire from a barrel cannon through fireballs to get the N.
