The Amazon is a high-DPS character in Dragon's Crown, capable of blocking attacks and gaining temporary invulnerability with specific skills. Her natural ability, Berserk, significantly speeds up her attacks and increases damage at higher levels. While powerful, her damage output can be mediocre if not in Berserk level 3, and reaching and maintaining this state can be challenging.

Natural Skills

Parry

By holding the Square button, the Amazon can block attacks, similar to the Fighter. This block cannot defend against magic. Investing in the Parry skill grants a short invulnerability buff if timed correctly before an enemy attack. Mastering this skill is beneficial even without the Parry investment, as it allows the Amazon to maintain her position and continue ground combos. It can also be used to quickly reset a ground combo instead of using Brandish if invulnerability isn't required. Without the War Paint skill active, a ground combo canceled with a parry can achieve higher DPS than Brandish. However, excessive parrying can cause the Amazon to drop her weapon and significantly reduce its durability, potentially leading to a broken weapon quickly.

Berserk

Berserk has three levels, with each level increasing the Amazon's attack speed. To increase the Berserk level, the Amazon must hit enemies a certain number of times, with higher levels requiring more hits. Berserk levels are lost if the Amazon doesn't attack for approximately 5 seconds, if she is knocked down, or if she is stunned. Getting hit or recovering from a potential knockdown by evading will not cause a loss of Berserk.

Power Smash

Pressing the Circle button performs a Power Smash, a high-damage attack during which the Amazon is invulnerable. While powerful, it is not as strong as the Dwarf's Power Smash, and the Amazon has other effective ways to deal damage and achieve invulnerability.

Skills

Stun Wave (Air Skill)

This skill adds a shockwave to the Amazon's air down slam, serving as her only ranged attack. While some players choose to max this skill, its damage output is considered mediocre, performing slightly less damage than a single ground attack (Square button) at its maximum rank. The skill's ranks increase its power and shockwave distance.

Neck Splitter (Air Skill)

Activated by pressing Down + Square after a double jump, this skill enhances the Amazon's downward air slam. It deals extra damage to downed enemies. A drawback is the inability to evade cancel during the move's animation, and its damage is not exceptional even when maxed, especially against enemies that are difficult to knock down or are immune to it. A common strategy is to invest 1 SP into Neck Splitter and 2 SP into Stun Wave to meet the skill point requirements for maxing Deadly Revolution.

Deadly Revolution (Air Skill)

This skill boosts the damage of the Amazon's air spinning attack and increases the number of times she can change direction mid-air. It also enhances damage against airborne enemies, making it a potent move for aerial combat. The ability to change direction allows for extended air time, sustained damage on enemies, and mid-air evasion. It is highly recommended for all Amazons to max this skill.
