Enhance your EverQuest II gear with Adornments and Infusions: a guide to their types, benefits, and acquisition.

Adornments and Infusions are powerful ways to further customize and enhance your equipment in EverQuest II. They allow you to add additional stats, procs, or abilities to your gear, often providing significant power boosts.

Adornments:

Adornments are small, gem-like items that can be slotted into specific slots on your armor, weapons, and accessories. Each piece of gear can have multiple adornment slots (e.g., Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Green, Purple). Different colored adornments provide different types of bonuses:

• Red: Often provide offensive stats like Potency, Crit Bonus, or Ability Modifier.
• Yellow: Frequently offer defensive stats like Mitigation, Health, or Resistances.
• Blue: Can provide utility, such as increased run speed, experience gain, or tradeskill bonuses.
• White: Universal slots that can accept any color adornment.
• Green/Purple: Often specific to certain expansions or content, providing unique bonuses.

Adornments are obtained from various sources, including crafting, dungeon drops, quest rewards, and the marketplace. They are consumed upon use, so choose wisely. You can remove adornments, but it often requires a special item or a fee.

Infusions:

Infusions are a more recent addition, allowing you to directly enhance the base stats of an item. They are typically obtained from high-level content, such as raids or advanced solo zones. Infusions can increase an item's primary attributes, Potency, Crit Chance, or other core stats. Unlike adornments, infusions directly modify the item's base values and are often permanent or very difficult to remove.

Optimizing your adornments and infusions is a critical part of end-game gearing. Always aim to fill all available slots with the best possible adornments for your class and role, and apply infusions to your most powerful items.
