Qeynos Hills & Blackburrow (Human/Halfling)

Venture through EverQuest's Qeynos Hills and Blackburrow. Battle Gnolls and field rats, completing quests for Guard Shilster and seeking Gnoll Fangs.

If you started in Qeynos, your early adventures will take you to Qeynos Hills. This zone is teeming with low-level creatures like Gnolls, Large Field Rats, and Skeletons. Look for quests from guards in Qeynos or from NPCs like Guard Shilster in the hills. The primary early dungeon for Qeynos-aligned characters is Blackburrow, a gnoll stronghold. Entering Blackburrow around level 8-10 is a rite of passage. Be warned: it's a dangerous place, and grouping is highly recommended. The gnolls drop various items, including Gnoll Fangs, which can be turned in for experience and faction at the Qeynos Guard Captain. Progression here is often about finding a good camp and grinding until you're strong enough to delve deeper.
