Learn how to take down Hobbes, Hobbe Lieutenants, Hobbe Spellcasters, and Small Hobbes in Fable: The Lost Chapters. Discover their weaknesses and attack patterns.
Alright, so you're going to run into these Hobbes pretty often, and yeah, they can be a real pain because they almost always attack in groups. Keep an eye out for the ones that hang back and shoot at you – they're the real danger, just like bandits. They're basically the same type of enemy, so think along those lines when you're fighting them.
Here's a breakdown of the different types you'll face:
- Hobbe — These guys will just wobble around and swing wildly the whole time. They've got 600 Health, give you 18 Experience and 10 Renown. They're weak to Sharpening, Lightning, and Fire Augmentations or Spells. Their main attack is a Hobbe Axe Swing that does about 60-70 Damage. You'll find them mostly in Hobbe Caves and Darkwood Areas. They're usually the first ones you'll see in a group.
- Hobbe Lieutenant — I had to check a guide to get the official name for these guys; 'Bigger Hobbe' just didn't sound right! They have 900 Health, giving you 26 Experience and 14 Renown. Like the regular Hobbes, they're weak to Sharpening, Lightning, and Fire Augmentations or Spells. Their attack is a Hobbe Hammer Smash, hitting for around 90 Damage. You'll find them anywhere in Darkwood, except for the Chapel of Skorm and the Darkwood Camp. They'll be right in the thick of it with the other Hobbes.
- Hobbe Spellcaster — These ones can really get under your skin. If you can manage to keep an eye on them while you're busy with the other Hobbes, try your best to dodge their spell blasts. They have 300 Health, and you'll get 22 Experience and 12 Renown for defeating them. Their weaknesses are the same: Sharpening, Lightning, and Fire Augmentations or Spells. They can hit you with a Hobbe Staff Whack for 80 Damage, or a Spell Blast, also for 80 Damage. Look for them in Hobbe Caves and Darkwood Paths, usually hanging out at the back of the group.
- Small Hobbe — These little guys only show up when Lake Nymphs summon them. They only have 120 Health, but give you 12 Experience and 6 Renown. They share the same weaknesses as the bigger Hobbes: Sharpening, Lightning, and Fire Augmentations or Spells. Their attack is a simple Hobbe Weapon Hit for about 20 Damage. You'll find them wherever you encounter a Lake Nymph.
- Small Hobbe Spellcaster — Even smaller annoyances, but annoying nonetheless. They have a mere 100 Health, but you'll still get 16 Experience and 8 Renown. Their weaknesses are identical to the other Hobbes: Sharpening, Lightning, and Fire Augmentations or Spells. They can hit you with a Hobbe Staff Whack for 50 Damage, or a Spell Blast, also for 50 Damage. These are also spawned by Lake Nymphs, so expect to see them when those appear.
