Alright, so you're looking to get into ranged combat in Fable? Smart move! Instead of just charging headfirst into every fight, these weapons let you hang back and pick off enemies from a distance. It's a bit slower, sure, but way safer. There are two main types to consider: Longbows and Crossbows.

Longbows are your bread-and-butter bows. They're great for firing off a steady stream of arrows, keeping the pressure on. Crossbows, on the other hand, are slower to reload but hit a lot harder, making them good for a few powerful shots before you have to mix it up in melee.

Longbows

These are the classic bows you'll see a lot of. They're reliable and good for sustained fire.

• Yew Longbow — Damage: 60, Value: 150. This is your basic archer's weapon, sturdy and decent enough to start with. You can find it in Bowerstone South, Darkwood Camp, Oakvale, and Twinblade's Camp. It has 0 Augmentation Spaces.
• Oak Longbow — Damage: 90, Value: 450. Oak is a step up from Yew, tougher and more powerful. It's available at the Heroes' Guild, Bowerstone South, Oakvale, and Twinblade's Camp. It comes with 1 Augmentation Space.
• Ebony Longbow — Damage: 130, Value: 1820. Known for its suppleness and strength, this bow is accurate and packs a punch. Look for it at the Heroes' Guild, Bowerstone South, Oakvale, and Twinblade's Camp. It has 2 Augmentation Spaces.
• Master Longbow — Damage: 180, Value: 23040. The sheen of the wood tells you this is a Master weapon, one of the best you can get. You can buy it from the Heroes' Guild, Knothole Glade, Bowerstone North, and Hook Coast. It boasts 3 Augmentation Spaces.
• Legendary Longbow (Skorm's Bow) — Damage: 264, Value: 54720. This is the fabled weapon of the Overberg, rumored to carry dark secrets that give its arrows incredible power. You can't buy this one; it's awarded by the god Skorm himself. It has 2 Augmentation Spaces, which are already taken by Lightning and Sharpening augments.

Crossbows

If you prefer a slower, more powerful shot, the Crossbow is your friend. They deal more damage per hit but take longer between shots.

• Yew Crossbow — Damage: 80, Value: 200. The flexibility of yew wood makes it suitable for crossbows too. Grab it from the Heroes' Guild, Bowerstone South, or Oakvale. It has 0 Augmentation Spaces.
• Oak Crossbow — Damage: 110, Value: 550. These are heavy, sturdy devices, built for the toughest fights. Find them at the Heroes' Guild, Bowerstone South, and Oakvale. It comes with 1 Augmentation Space.
• Ebony Crossbow — Damage: 150, Value: 2100. While incredibly powerful, you'll need to take good care of this crossbow to keep it in top condition. It's sold at the Heroes' Guild, Oakvale, Twinblade's Camp, and Knothole Glade. It has 2 Augmentation Spaces.
• Master Crossbow — Damage: 200, Value: 25600. Light, strong, and super precise – this crossbow is a prime example of why Master weapons are so sought after. You can pick it up at Knothole Glade, Bowerstone North, and Hook Coast. It offers 3 Augmentation Spaces.
• Legendary Crossbow (Arken's Crossbow) — Damage: 220, Value: 50160. This crossbow has a legendary backstory, forged from battlefield scraps by Arken himself to hunt down his ambushers after the massacre of Olagan. You won't find this in any shop; it's hidden away in a Silver Key Chest in the Darkwood Marshes. It has 3 Augmentation Spaces, already filled with Silver, Flame, and Piercing augments.
