Your guide to Jachol in Final Fantasy V! Learn about the monsters, shops, and points of interest like the piano before heading back to Jachol Cave.
Alright, so you've made it to Jachol! It's a pretty standard town, but it's got some good stuff to grab before you head back to that cave you passed earlier. Think of it as a good place to restock and get your bearings.
When you're exploring the area around Jachol, keep an eye out for a few monsters. You might run into a Bomb (level 21, 440 HP) that can use Self-Destruct, a Doublizard (level 21, 700 HP) that's weak to Ice, or a Bio Soldier (level 18, 540 HP). The Doublizard might drop a Potion, and the Bio Soldier can drop an Antidote or even a War Hammer if you're lucky. Just be careful, especially with the Bomb's Self-Destruct move!

Inside Jachol itself, the main thing to know is that the Item Shop is where you'll want to spend your Gil. It's got a bit of everything: healing items like Potions and Phoenix Downs, status-curing items, and even some useful spells like Cura, Raise, and Protect. Make sure you've got enough Potions and maybe a Phoenix Down or two – they're always good to have.
For weapons and armor, you can find some decent upgrades here too. The Ogre Killer and Coral Sword are available, along with the Mage Masher and a Silver Bow. For armor, check out the Green Beret, Ninja Suit, and Sage's Surplice. It might cost you a bit, but stocking up now will save you headaches later.

Don't forget to check out the Pub on the second floor of the Item Shop – it's got its own entrance too. There's a dancer there you can interact with, and more importantly, a Piano. Playing the piano is a neat little way to boost your skills, so give it a try!
You'll hear a lot of people talking about Crescent Island and the Jachol Cave. That cave is the one you passed earlier, so once you're all geared up and ready, it's time to head back there.
