Walkthrough for the Mi'ihen Highroad in Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, covering enemies, items, and the Ifrit boss fight.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Before proceeding, return to Luca and visit the Aurochs' locker room. Search the second-to-last locker on the right to find the Jupiter Crest (Mercury Crest in some versions).
  2. 2
You can also recruit Blitzball players in Luca, such as Shaami (Forward) and Jumal (Goalkeeper).
  3. 3
    Return to the Mi'ihen Highroad.
  4. 4
In the Mi'ihen Highroad South End, you can find items like Hi-Potion, Antidote ×2, Hunter's Spear, Ice Brand, and either an Echo Ring or Seeker's Ring.
  5. 5
Enemies in this area include Bomb, Dual Horn, Floating Eye, Mi'ihen Fang, Raldo, and White Element. The boss is Ifrit.
  6. 6
Defeat enemies: Mi'ihen Fang is weak to Fire/Water. Floating Eye is weak to Lightning. White Element is weak to Fire. Dual Horn can be dealt with using Dark Attack or Power Break; Kimahri can learn Fire Breath via Lancet. Bombs have a gimmick where three non-fatal hits cause them to Self-Destruct. Raldo is Armored and weak to Ice.
  7. 7
Collect treasures from NPCs: a man in a yellow shirt gives a Hi-Potion, a young girl gives two Antidotes, and a man in blue and gray gives a Hunter's Spear for Kimahri.
  8. 8
Use the Save Sphere at the start of the area.
  9. 9
Proceed north, ignoring the first alcove on the right.
  10. 10
An old man in front of a statue will provide backstory.
  11. 11
Continue north for a scene near a large ruin. Search behind the ruin for a chest containing the Ice Brand for Tidus.
  12. 12
    Proceed north for another scene.
  13. 13
In a nearby area to the east, you'll find Belgemine. Accept her challenge for an Aeon duel.

Boss: Ifrit

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • HP: 3,500
  • Overkill HP: 2,550
  • AP (Overkill): 0
  • Gil: 0
  • Steal: None
  • Drops: None
  • Elemental Weaknesses: None
  • Elemental Resistances: Fire (Absorbs), Gravity (Immune)
  • Status Vulnerabilities: Doom

Phases:

  1. Belgemine Summons Ifrit. Yuna must use Valefor.
  2. Ifrit alternates between a basic physical attack and Meteor Strike.
  3. Ifrit's Overdrive gauge fills but does not trigger Hellfire.

Strategy:

  • Use Black Magic against Ifrit when it uses its basic physical attack.
  • Use Shield to reduce Meteor Strike damage by 75%.
  • Use Valefor's Energy Blast Overdrive when Ifrit is below 2,000 HP or Valefor is near KO.
  • This is a tutorial battle; losing does not result in a Game Over.
Tips
  • In PAL/International/Remaster versions, Wakka's Extract Ability can convert enemy drops into Ability Spheres.
  • Summoning Valefor can prevent Dual Horns from acting.
  • Ifrit absorbs Bomb's attacks; summon Ifrit if struggling against Bombs.
  • Equip the Hunter's Spear on Kimahri as soon as you obtain it.
  • Note that Ifrit is not weak to Ice in this battle.
  • Jupiter Crest (Key Item)
  • Hi-Potion
  • Antidote ×2
  • Hunter's Spear (Weapon for Kimahri)
  • Ice Brand (Weapon for Tidus)
  • Echo Ring or Seeker's Ring
