Mushroom Rock Road
Items: Tough Bangle, Remedy, Ether, Phoenix Down ×2, Hi-Potion
Enemies: Bomb, Dual Horn, Floating Eye, Ipiria, Thunder Flan, Vouivre
The Crusaders here have goodies, as usual. Backtrack from your starting position to find a man with a maroon-and-yellow shirt and a black helmet; he will give you a Tough Bangle (HP +20%, [Empty]), which is almost certainly a vast improvement over anything she currently has. Just across the road from him, there's a Crusader in blue that gives you a Remedy. There's one in green pants who scurries around and has an Ether. The Crusader in tan pants and a green shirt who runs around, meanwhile, will give you two Phoenix Downs if you speak to him. Finally, the female Crusader here will give you a Hi-Potion.
You'll be forced to take the first left (the rest of the road is blocked). O'aka is here with an Item Shop and an Equipment Shop, and his prices depend on how much you've donated to him to date. If you donated less than 101 Gil, O'aka's prices will be doubled. If you donated 101 Gil or more but less than 1,001, his prices will have a 50% markup compared to normal, and if you donated 1,001 or more Gil but less than 10,001, his prices will be raised by 20% over normal. If you donated more than 10,001 Gil, he will give you a 30% discount.

Valley
Items: Hi-Potion, 1,000 Gil, Potion ×10, Remedy, Hi-Potion
Enemies: Funguar, Gandarewa, Garuda, Lamashtu, Raptor, Red Element
Let's go over the enemies in here. Raptor and Red Element are both straightforward and weak to Ice, while Lamashtu is weak to Fire and can use a powerful Ice attack against your whole party if you let it take a turn (kill it with Auron or Kimahri). Garuda is the same as the previous iterations, only with higher stats (Dark Attack, Power Break, or Aeon to deal with it). Gandarewa is a new kind of enemy; you'll want to use Wakka against it, and it's weak to Water. Finally, Funguar has a chance to counter any action with Pollen, which has an 80% base chance of inflicting Sleep for two turns, and casts Fire when it gets a turn. Note that Sleep Ward will reduce the likelihood on that character to 30%. You can also remove most of the risk by saving Funguars for last in a formation and hitting them with Silence Attack; 80% of the time, the Funguar will be Silenced, so even if it counters it won't be able to attack. Killing a Funguar in a single attack will also avoid the danger, because Pollen cannot be used if the attack killed it. Ifrit is highly effective; nothing Funguar can do will ever deal so much as a point of damage, and Ifrit enjoys elemental superiority over the monstrous mushroom.
If you have Steal, going after flans/elementals, Funguar, Garuda, and Bomb is a good move, since these fiends give the best returns. Most fiend types will give you a good Item if you land the Rare slot, though.
Offensively, you should equip to hit weaknesses. Defensively, Sleep Ward and Fire Ward are the best things to equip, since Fire is the most common element by far and Sleep can be very dangerous. If you don't have these options, general-use Auto-Abilities will have to do. Remember also that you can change Equipment in battle; it does cost a turn, but the recovery is very fast (Rank 1, one third of the recovery time of a normal Attack).
Use the Save Sphere before doing anything else. Not far ahead is a female Crusader who will give you a Hi-Potion, then board the lift. The path winds north, then east, then north again. Lucil has no Items for you (she's mostly here to show you where to go), but as she moves out of the way you'll see a chest off in the distance. Open it for 1,000 Gil, and speak to the Crusader next to it for ten Potions. Get back on the main network of ledges and go west. When the rock you're on turns to go north, follow it (speak to Lucil for her opinion on the situation) and there's another chest with Remedy not far away.
From here, the ridge snakes in a mostly northerly fashion. You'll soon run into Shelinda, who will offer to heal you (HP and MP, including Aeons) if you speak to her three times.
Continue to follow the trail until you reach an arch-like rock formation. Just behind it, there's a chest with a Hi-Potion. The road is entirely uneventful (aside from the standard encounters) the rest of the way.
Use the lift at the end.
Precipice
Items: X-Potion, Serene Armlet, 400 Gil, Al Bhed Primer X (Key Item), Mega-Potion
Enemies: Funguar, Gandarewa, Garuda, Lamashtu, Raptor, Red Element
As soon as you disembark, speak to the Crusader nearby to receive an X-Potion, then follow the path east and north. If you look carefully, you'll notice a path branching off straight west. Take it, use the lift here, and grab the Serene Armlet (Dark Ward, Berserk Ward), then go back to the main section and continue going north.
Before going on the lift, there's a soldier wandering around here; speak to him to get a deposit of 400 Gil. Now (again, without using the lift) look to the south and you'll see a narrow ledge on your mini-map; at the end, you'll encounter Al Bhed Primer X.
Return to where the 400 Gil Crusader is and ride the lift up. Follow the path around, speaking to the man in yellow guarding the big lift here for a Mega-Potion. Approach the southern "peninsula" for a scene, then speak to Luzzu.
After that, use the big lift.
