    From the entrance, go north.

    Pass by the Crusaders and speak with Shelinda.

    Veer southeast to find a chest containing three Lv. 1 Key Spheres.

    Continue along the road and meet a pair of Ronso, triggering a scene.

    After the scene, open the chest for an X-Potion.
  6. 6
    The road turns northeast. Follow it and find a small side-trail to the southeast containing three more Lv. 1 Key Spheres.

    Further down the road, you will encounter Belgemine for a battle challenge.

    After the battle with Belgemine's Aeon, Ixion, head north from Belgemine to find a western offshoot.

    At the end of this offshoot, open a chest to receive a Magic Def Sphere, which allows the creation of a Magic Def +4 Node on the Sphere Grid.

    Exit this area to the north.

Enemies: Bite Bug, Bunyip, Funguar, Gandarewa, Garm, Ochu, Snow Flan, Ixion (boss).

Ochu Strategy: Ochu is the strongest new fiend, weak to Fire. Its attacks can inflict Poison. Below 50% HP, it may use Ochu Dance, which can inflict Silence, Darkness, Confusion, and Slow. Ifrit is effective due to Fire affinity and status immunity.

Stealing: If Kimahri has Steal, use it on Gandarewa and Snow Flan for guaranteed items, and on other monsters (except Ochu) for a chance at good items.

Boss: Ixion

Ixion's Properties: HP: 6,000, AP (Overkill): 0, Gil: 0, Steal: None, Drops: None, Equipment Drop Rate: 0%, Slots (Abilities): 0, Elemental Weaknesses: None, Elemental Resistances: Lightning (Absorbs), Gravity (Immune), Status Vulnerabilities: Doom, Poison Damage: Immune, Doom Count: 5.

Ixion Strategy: This is a Summoner duel. Ixion uses a normal attack, Aerospark (removes positive status effects), and Thor's Hammer (heavy damage when Overdrive gauge is full). Below 50% HP, Ixion casts Haste on itself. Use Valefor and Ifrit. Try to defeat Ixion with an Aeon Overdrive, especially for the last half of its HP. Ifrit can heal with Fire. Use Shield if Thor's Hammer is imminent.
