After Howling Cliffs in Hollow Knight: Find Grimm for Grimmchild, Sly for Nailmaster's Glory, and visit Iselda and the Grubfather.
Alright, you've made it through Howling Cliffs! Now, let's head back to Dirtmouth and see what goodies are waiting for us. There are a few important things to grab here that will really help you out.
Walkthrough
- 1First things first, head into the large tent in Dirtmouth. Go all the way to the right side of it. You'll meet an NPC named Grimm. He'll give you the Grimmchild Charm. This is a pretty neat one for helping you out in combat!
- 2Next, make your way to Sly's store. You might have noticed an entrance to his basement before, but now's the time to check it out. Head down there and go all the way to the right again. Talk to Sly, and he'll give you the Nailmaster's Glory Charm. This one's fantastic for Nail Arts users!
- 3While you're in Dirtmouth, it's always a good idea to pop into Iselda's shop. Buy any maps and Pins you can afford. They're super useful for navigating Hallownest.
- 4You'll find the entrance to the Grey Prince Zote boss fight in the rightmost house. I'd suggest leaving this one for later, though. He can be a tough challenge, so it's best to come back when you're a bit stronger.
- 5Make sure to pay a visit to the Grubfather. He's located in Dirtmouth as well. Depending on how many Grubs you've rescued so far, he'll give you some Geo, the Grubsong Charm, a Rancid Egg, a Hallownest Seal, and potentially a Pale Ore.
- 6Important Note on Pale Ore: If you haven't rescued all the Grubs in Hallownest yet, you won't get the Pale Ore from the Grubfather. This means you'll miss out on a Nail upgrade for now. If you're eager to get that upgrade, you can find another Pale Ore by completing Trial #2 in the Colosseum of Fools.
- 7Once you've done all that, head back to the Stag Station and take the Stag to King's Station.
Tips
- Don't underestimate the utility of the Grimmchild Charm, especially early on. It adds a little extra damage that can make a difference.
- Nailmaster's Glory is a must-have if you plan on using Nail Arts frequently. It speeds up their charge time significantly.
- Keep an eye on your Geo! You'll want to have enough to buy those crucial maps and pins from Iselda.
- The Grubfather's rewards scale with the number of Grubs you've found, so keep an eye out for those little guys!
