The Resting Grounds is a key area in Hollow Knight, accessible after dropping down from Crystal Peak. It is notable for introducing the Dream Nail and the concept of Essence.

Walkthrough

After dropping from Crystal Peak, head right into the next room.

Inspect the shrine dedicated to the Dreamers (Monomon, Lurien, Herrah).

You will be sent into a dream world. Continue right until a Moth leads you to a platform.

The Moth will offer you the Dream Nail, allowing you to escape the dream world.

You will wake up in Seer's house. Seer will grant you the Dream Nail and explain Essence, an energy collectible with the Dream Nail that grants rewards from Seer.

Exit Seer's house and drop down until you find a Whispering Root.

Hold the Dream Nail button and strike the Whispering Root to collect 20 Essence.

To the left of Seer's house, opposite the Stag Station, you can find the Dreamshield Charm.

Use the Stag Station to return to Dirtmouth. Return the Shopkeeper's Key to Sly to unlock his full inventory.

Purchase a Mask Shard and the Elegant Key from Sly.

Visit Iselda to buy the map for the Resting Grounds.

Travel to the City Storerooms via the Stag Station.
