- 1Head to Salubra in the Infected Crossroads and purchase as many Charms and Notches as possible.
- 2Take the Stag back to Dirtmouth.
- 3Equip the Defender's Crest charm near a Bench for a future discount.
- 4Drop down the well and go left to the screen before the Grubfather.
- 5Upon entering this screen, use your double jump to hit a fake ceiling.
- 6Climb the walls to reach a hidden path on the left.
- 7Follow this path to an Essence tree and collect the Essence using the Dream Nail.
- 8Enter the Ancestral Mound, located between the Bench and the Lifeblood Cocoon (this is where the Shaman who granted your dash ability resides).

- 16Take the path to the left and hit the Essence tree to collect Essence.
- 17Exit Fungal Wastes from the top left towards Fog Canyon.
