Personal Mounts

Personal mounts offer unparalleled freedom and often provide combat advantages. Acquiring one typically involves a quest chain or a significant investment.

Strider

The Strider is the quintessential Lineage II mount for many players, offering a significant speed boost and the ability to fight while mounted (for specific classes).

• Acquisition: The Strider is obtained through the "Pailaka - Song of Ice and Fire" quest, available to characters level 73 and above.
• Quest Steps:
  1. Speak to the Messenger of the Ice Queen Freya in the Town of Schuttgart to begin the quest.
  2. Follow the questline, which involves entering the Pailaka instance and defeating various bosses.
  3. Upon successful completion, you will be rewarded with a Strider.

Wyvern

• Acquisition: Only the leader of a clan that owns a castle can acquire a Wyvern. This is a high-level, end-game feature.
• Requirements:

  • The clan leader must be at least level 75.
  • The clan leader needs to speak with the Wyvern Manager NPC located within their owned castle.
  • A significant amount of Adena and various rare crafting materials are required for the Wyvern's creation.
• Flight: Once summoned, the Wyvern allows the clan leader to fly over most areas of the game world, providing unparalleled mobility.
• Limitations: Wyverns cannot enter certain instanced zones or specific areas. They are primarily for open-world traversal.

Public Transportation

For those without personal mounts, or when traveling to specific destinations, public transportation is a reliable and affordable option.

Airships

Airships provide scenic and efficient travel between distant major cities.

• Routes:
  • Aden - Goddard: Connects the bustling capital of Aden with the snowy plains of Goddard.
  • Rune - Schuttgart: Links the mystical city of Rune with the industrial hub of Schuttgart.
• Boarding:
  1. Locate the Airship Manager NPC in the respective cities (e.g., Aden Castle Town, Goddard Castle Town).
  2. Purchase an Airship Ticket from the manager.
  3. Wait for the airship to arrive at the designated boarding platform. Airships operate on a fixed schedule, so check the manager for departure times.
  4. Walk onto the airship when it docks. You will be automatically transported to the destination.
• Cost: Airship Tickets are relatively inexpensive, making them accessible to all players.

Gatekeepers

Gatekeepers are the most common form of instant travel, allowing players to teleport to various locations for a fee.

• Location: Gatekeeper NPCs are found in every major town and village.
• Teleportation:
  1. Speak to the Gatekeeper NPC.
  2. Select your desired destination from the list. Destinations are often categorized by region or type (e.g., hunting grounds, other towns).
  3. Confirm the teleportation and pay the associated Adena fee.
• Cost: The cost of teleportation varies depending on the distance and the destination's importance.
• Special Teleports: Some Gatekeepers offer special teleports to raid bosses or specific quest locations, often requiring a higher fee or specific items.

Freight Ships (Gludin - Talking Island)

• Boarding:
  1. Head to the docks in Gludin Village or Talking Island Village.
  2. Wait for the Freight Ship to arrive.

Other Transportation Methods

Dimensional Rift

The Dimensional Rift is a unique instanced zone that requires players to teleport between different "rooms" to progress. While not a conventional mount or public transport, it's a critical method of movement within this specific content.
