Boss: Boolossus (2)

Learn how to defeat Boolossus, the giant Boo boss in Luigi's Mansion. This guide covers strategies for both The Mansion and The Hidden Mansion, including ice attacks and unicorn statue tactics.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Boss: Boolossus (formed from 15 Boos)
• Weakness: Unicorn statues (when Boolossus is lured into them)
• Secondary Weakness: Ice element for defeating individual Boos

Phases:

1. Giant Boolossus: Boolossus jumps and charges. Lure it into a unicorn statue to shatter it.
2. 15 Boos: Boolossus splits into 15 smaller Boos. Ice Ghosts appear near the unicorn statues. Vacuum an Ice Ghost to gain ice element. Spray ice (L button) to freeze the smaller Boos. Vacuum the frozen Boos. If few Boos remain, use the shoot function (hold L until it clicks) to defeat them.
3. Reforming Boolossus: The smaller Boos reform into Boolossus. Lure the smaller, faster Boolossus into a unicorn statue again. It becomes smaller and faster as fewer Boos remain. If small enough, it can be held in the vacuum beam and steered into a unicorn horn.

Strategy:

• In The Hidden Mansion, Luigi rides the vacuum, making him fast but slippery.
• Dodge Boolossus's jumps and charges. Position yourself near a unicorn statue and move away as it charges to make it shatter against the statue.
• When Boolossus splits, prioritize getting the ice element from Ice Ghosts.
• Use the ice spray (L button) to freeze the smaller Boos. They are easier targets when frozen.
• When only one or two Boos are left, they become more agile. Use the shoot function (hold L until it clicks) to defeat them.
• Vacuuming a frozen ghost refills your ice element.
• When Boolossus reforms, it will be smaller and faster. Lure it into a unicorn statue. If it's small enough, you can hold it in your vacuum beam and steer it into a unicorn horn.
• For A Rank: Keep 90 HP or more. Avoid vacuuming Boolossus when it's large; run instead. Use ice spray on smaller Boos to keep them at a distance and avoid attacks. Stay at the lower part of the screen when dealing with one to three Boos for better targeting. Avoid berserking.
