Guide to completing the 'Toward the Mass Effect Core' mission in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Includes enemy waves, item locations, and strategic tips for survival.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin by engaging in sniper rifle combat, followed by an encounter with approximately eight Husks. Collect the dropped ammo.
  2. 2
As you reach the bottom of the ramp, prepare for another wave of Husks, including an Abomination and a Scion. Use backpedaling and cover to manage these enemies.
  3. 3
Proceed up the ramp and collect the items. Near the second terminal, more Husks will appear, but without a Scion this time.
  4. 4
The next wave, encountered at the bottom of the ramp past a Med Kit, will include a Scion, an Abomination, and numerous Husks.
  5. 5
As you approach the Reaper's mass effect core, expect waves featuring two Scions. Focus on eliminating Husks first, and fall back if necessary to deal with the Scions. After this round, find the Shotgun upgrade below.
  6. 6
Grab the items, then prepare for two Scions and some Husks near an explosive crate. Focus on clearing the Husks to isolate and defeat the Scions.
  7. 7
When you reach the Power Cells, two more Scions and several Husks will spawn. The Husks may spawn more slowly here, allowing you to potentially defeat the Scions first. Bypass the door.
  8. 8
Inside the core, you will face large waves of Husks (around 18 per wave) on both sides of the room. The Reaper's Core will open its shield after these waves. You can recuperate and grab items while the shield is down; it closes after you deal about 33% damage to the core.
  9. 9
After destroying the core, escape the area.
  10. 10
Upon returning to the Normandy, you will have a choice regarding the technology found: give it to Cerberus for 50,000 credits but lose it, or talk with it and activate it in the AI Core past the Medical Bay.

WARNING PART 2: To ensure all crew members survive, immediately proceed through the Omega 4 Relay after EDI finishes installing the IFF. Do not undertake any further assignments, as a survival timer for your crew has begun. Follow the guide's timeline from this point onward to guarantee crew survival.

You can still visit shops for missed upgrades if you have sufficient credits. Additionally, this is a good time to advance any potential romance conversations and witness humorous comments from Mordin.
