Guide yourself through the Minos Wasteland's Abandoned Mine in Mass Effect. Learn enemy tactics, item locations, and the quickest way to complete this mission.

Alright, let's tackle this Abandoned Mine mission. You'll find this on the galaxy map in the Minos Wasteland, specifically on Fortis, the third planet. Just a heads-up, the Minos Wasteland won't even show up until you've bought the map from Baria Frontiers on Illium, so make sure you've done that first.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
As soon as you enter the mine, you'll be met by four Husks. Deal with them quickly. You'll also find a datapad here with a... *charming* note.
  2. 2
Around the first corner, another group of Husks awaits, along with an Abomination. Take them down.
  3. 3
The next area throws a bit more at you: four Husks and another Abomination will ambush you, with two more Husks dropping in from above. Stay sharp!
  4. 4
Head up the ramp and down the hall. Here, you'll face another party of four Husks and an Abomination.
  5. 5
Both paths from here eventually lead to the same spot. You'll encounter a continuous stream of Husks, and crucially, an explosive device placed near the source of the infestation. EDI will chime in to explain the situation.
  6. 6
Objective: Destroy the explosive device. This is where you need to be quick, especially on Normal or harder difficulties. As soon as the Husks start spawning, sprint directly for the objective and shoot the explosives. Don't get bogged down trying to kill every single Husk that comes at you. Even if you're a crack shot, more will just keep spawning. If you can't kill them fast enough, you'll quickly run out of ammo and get overwhelmed.
  7. 7
There's a locker near the bomb that contains 450 credits. However, getting to it is tough; you'll need to be incredibly fast or have combat drones to help clear the enemies quickly enough to grab it. It's usually not worth the risk unless you're specifically going for completion.
  8. 8
Once you destroy the bomb, you'll automatically make your escape. Mission accomplished!

Enemy Defenses: Expect Armor on harder difficulties.

Enemies: Husks, Abomination.

Tips
  • Focus on the objective: The main goal is to destroy the explosive. Don't get caught up in a prolonged firefight with the Husks, as they just keep coming.
  • Speed is key: Especially on higher difficulties, prioritize reaching and destroying the bomb quickly.
  • Conserve ammo for the objective: While you need to deal with immediate threats, don't waste all your ammo on Husks if it means you can't destroy the bomb efficiently.
