Walkthrough
  1. 1
After defeating Kaufman and the cleaners, return to the previous apartment and interact with the wide-screen television to trigger a 2D cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) paying homage to the original Grand Theft Auto games.
  2. 2
Exit the lift and go left. Enter the first passage on the left leading to a door to hear a woman moaning and groaning. This soundtrack is later used in Part 3 Chapter 3 in the TV Late Night Movie Max Heat 7.
  3. 3
Shoot the security cameras located throughout the building's corridors. Mona will randomly remark, "Max! stop it!", "Max, I can't help you if I can't see what's going on.", or "Max! those cameras are my eyes, we need them to make this work."
  4. 4
In this level, you can play the piano that the two cleaners are playing. Ensure the lid does not fall off. The first time you play it, Max Payne will perform the theme at normal speed; the second time, he will play it faster.
  5. 5
The theme song "Late Goodbye" by "Poets of the Fall" can be heard. The cleaners play its tune on the piano, and after they finish, one will whistle the tune.
  6. 6
After reaching your desk and the initial (cutscene), talk to the officer to learn about her blind child. Near her desk, on a sticky board, you can find a "The Brooklyn School for the Blind" Certificate, similar to one found in Vladimir Lem's room.
  7. 7
Listen to an interrogation near Jim Bravura's cabin, dubbed "Crime of the Century".
  8. 8
When you reach the prisoner cells, listen to a conversation between two cell-mates in the interior cells, behind the second door, referred to as the "How ****ed up is that???" story.
  9. 9
In the station's garage, find officers "Miller" and "Broussard" arguing. Miller discusses "positioning" while Broussard says "It'll be Done When It's Done." This references Scott Miller and George Broussard of 3D Realms and the delayed game Duke Nukem Forever, with the release date stated as "To be released When It's Done." Officer Miller also corrects Officer Broussard on his name, referencing George Broussard spelling his name "Broussad" in Pharaoh's Tomb.
  10. 10
In the lobby, attempting to enter an occupied toilet stall will prompt the officer inside to say, "For crying out loud! Is it too much to ask for some privacy? I'll be out when it's done."
Tips
  • The cutscene involving the television is only triggered after all enemies are dead.
  • The piano can only be played if its lid remains intact.
  • The certificate near Detective Winterson's desk is a potential hint at a connection between her and Vladimir Lem.
