Part 23

Follow the resistance member through Midtown South, Northeast, and North Sectors in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Rescue him if captured.

003.3 - Solid Normal, Naked Normal, Liquid Easy

On lower difficulties, the resistance member's route is easier with fewer soldiers and vehicles.

003.31 - Midtown South Sector

1. Walk down the street until a cinematic shows a suspicious character (your resistance member).
2. Hide behind a parked van and wait for him to cross the street heading east.
3. Follow him east until he turns north at the edge of the city.
4. When he heads west and encounters a soldier, stay behind a building and wait for him to find another route.
5. Follow him as he runs past you, down the next street south, and up a flight of stairs.
6. Observe him jump onto a roof and head west, then climb down a ladder.
7. Wait at the top of the ladder until he moves away from a patrolling soldier, then follow him.
8. He will head north, up stairs, and enter a park. Hide behind the east statue he passes.
9. He will run back south, then head north again. Hide behind the west statue while he takes a bathroom break.
10. He will climb over a grassy hill and throw a grenade, initiating a caution. Lay low.
11. After the caution ends, he runs down the street and hides in a stairway as a patrol vehicle passes. Lie prone by the wall to avoid detection.
12. Tail the resistance member north to the next area.

003.32 - Midtown Northeast Sector

1. Head west to find the resistance member hiding behind a mailbox near a crosswalk.
2. Wait for him to cross the street and turn the corner, then follow him, staying close to building walls to avoid a helicopter's searchlight.
3. Catch up to him while he checks if the coast is clear.
4. As he heads north, position yourself by the car to the south.
5. The resistance member will kick a can and be arrested by two PMCs. Rescue him using your Mk.2 tranquilizer gun, firing two rounds. A hit anywhere will incapacitate them without them calling for backup, even without a headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill).
6. If he runs up stairs and hides, follow him. If he runs back to the main area and is caught again, do not bother saving him as another will replace him.
7. Follow the resistance member northwest to the next area.

003.33 - Midtown North Sector

1. Hang back by the dumpsters as the resistance member enters the courtyard on the west side of the alley.
2. He will reemerge in a green PMC uniform, allowing him to pass guards.
