Walkthrough

    Equip syringes to suppress nanomachines.

    Use Solid Eye's night vision to eliminate the six or seven Haven Troopers and Meryl near the stairs.

    Focus fire on the Psycho Mantis doll on Screaming Mantis' right side; hitting it causes her to hunch over.

    Continue shooting the doll while strafing around computers, ignoring revived Haven Troopers until the mid-battle cinematic.

    Equip the Psycho Mantis doll from the weapons menu and use it like any other weapon to fire a nanomachine-controlling blast at Screaming Mantis.

    When prompted, shake the controller with long, dramatic shakes to fling Screaming Mantis around until she is defeated.

    If you defeated Screaming Mantis using non-lethal tactics (hitting her doll with the Mk2 or another non-lethal weapon), her doll can be found in the north corridor on the lower level of the computer room.

Missile Hangar

Use chaff grenades to confuse the infinite Scarabs. Run and roll down the catwalk, only stopping to shoot if knocked down.

Radiation Corridor

Tap Triangle as quickly as possible to crawl through the radiation-blasting corridor, faster as you near the exit, to keep Snake moving and avoid the Triangle-button icon appearing on the HUD (Heads-Up Display).

Tips
  • Using the RPG-7 is not more effective than using a pistol against the Psycho Mantis doll.
  • The M4 is an easy weapon to use for this fight.
  • The Sorrow doll acts the same as the Mantis doll.
  • Using the Mantis doll on Screaming Mantis herself has no effect on registering a non-lethal kill.
