Learn how to gain reputation and unlock performance and visual parts in Midnight Club: Los Angeles by understanding rank progression and opponent difficulty.
How Reputation Works: As you progress through Midnight Club: Los Angeles, you will gain reputation points that increase your reputation rank. Some missions require you to earn a certain amount of rep points in a specific area before you can complete them.
The amount of rep points you earn from a race depends on two factors: how high you place within the race and the difficulty of the opponents you are racing.
There are four difficulty levels for opponents, each with its own color:
- Green racers are the easiest.
- Yellow racers have a medium difficulty.
- Orange racers are hard.
- Red racers are the hardest.
As you earn rep points, your reputation will increase. This increase will also unlock performance parts to upgrade your vehicles, as well as better vehicles.
Unlocking Issues: If you have reached a new rank but did not unlock what you were supposed to, you may need to complete one or two more races, and it should become unlocked. The same applies when you have completed the required number of races in a vehicle class but do not unlock the visual parts.
- Prioritize racing against harder opponents (orange and red) to maximize reputation gains per race.
- Keep track of mission requirements that specify a certain amount of rep points needed in an area.
- If unlocks are delayed, complete a few more races in the relevant vehicle class or at your current rank.
