This section details the objectives within Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The game's progression revolves around building your reputation to become the City Champ and eventually earning $1 million.

Objectives:

1. Start the game by choosing one of three starter cars: a 1998 Nissan 240SX, a 1983 Volkswagen Golf GTI, or a 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco.
2. Build your reputation to become the City Champ.
3. Race and defeat regional opponents to earn the right to challenge the current City Champ, Booke.
4. Defeat Booke in the final City Champ race at the Standard Hotel to become the City Champ.
5. After becoming City Champ, challenge and defeat the Champs of all five vehicle classes: Oswaldo, Julian, Lester, Pete, and Marcel.
6. Booke will then propose a deal: help him earn $1 million to co-own his garages, and you'll receive all vehicles from his garages for free. This also impacts Doc's South Central garage.
