Almudron

Fighting Almudron at the Shrine Ruins. Almudron is a muddy monster that is very agile and likes to whack hunters with its long tail. It can also dive underground to avoid attacks and frighten prey. Do not take Almudron lightly.

Attack Patterns

Headbutt

A fast attack where Almudron pulls its head back slightly after making a “grrr” sound, then stretches its neck forward to headbutt anything in front.

Overhead Tail Slam

Almudron hops back and turns its head towards its body, then swings its lower body forward, slamming its long tail down. This move has a long reach and Almudron aims it well.

Tail Punch

Almudron crouches down and growls, then thrusts its tail forward like a fist.

Side Swipe

Almudron twists its upper body away from you, raises one of its forelegs, and swipes it horizontally.

Leg Pound

Almudron stands on its hind legs, raises one foreleg with claws outstretched, and brings it crashing down ahead. It usually follows up with a second leg pound, but occasionally swings its tail 180 degrees instead. Be prepared to block/dodge a second time.

Tail Swipe

Almudron makes a hissing sound, looks sideways, waves its tail, then rapidly spins its body 360 degrees, swinging its tail forward.

Small Mud Wave

Almudron gets into a pouncing position, flails its tail next to its body, then lifts some mud and launches it forward across the floor.

Wide Mud Wave

Almudron performs a handstand using its forelegs, stretches its tail up, and sweeps it in front, creating a wide mud wave ahead. You can avoid this by wiredashing over it.

Retreating Mud Wave

Almudron stands on its hind legs and pushes itself backward using its tail, causing a wide wave of mud to ripple forward.

Backwards Mud Wave

When facing away from you, Almudron may raise its tail and one hind leg, slam its tail down, and sweep it across the floor, generating a wide mud wave. You can wiredash over it.

Golden Mud Somersault

When Almudron has golden mud dripping from its face, it shuffles away, performs a backwards somersault in the air, and its tail flicks a narrow wave of mud forward, leaving behind a line of toxic golden mud.

Burrowed Tail Slam

When Almudron dives into the ground and enters a half-buried state, if its tail remains vertical, it will slam its tail down in front of itself. Move to the sides to avoid this.
