Learn to craft potions, accessories, and explosives with the Alchemist Life in My Time at Portia. Includes quest walkthrough, crafting minigame tips, and rewards.

With the Alchemist Life you can craft potions, accessories and even explosives that will help you in battle, either by healing, boosting your stats or just simply deal with enemies.

Life Quest: Alchemy, Grant my Wish!

Meet with Chemmel, the Life Master, at the Alchemist's Guild to the east of Eternia Village. He'll ask you to gather some Healweed to craft a HP Potion and to talk to his assistant Toto.

Toto is near the fountain in the center of the Village, so head there and he'll give you the Healweed you need. Return to Chemmel to get the HP Potion recipe you need. Time to craft.

Alchemy Minigame

This minigame is pretty simple. There'll be a timer counting down and a gauge that you have to fill to 100% with the actions you'll be doing by pressing [button] and moving around the workbench with [analog stick]. The timing is also important: The faster you are, the better the quality of the time. From time to time, a special action will appear asking you to Tap or Hold or Spin [button]. When the bar is filled, the item is ready.

Achievement: Handicraft Worker - Crafted an item for the first time.

With the HP Potion done, a kid named Elke will come in asking for a potion to pass his tests. Chemmel suggests crafting a Memory Charm and asks you to head to the Capital City Market to get a Dubious Object, so let's do that. Speak with the clerk and he'll give you just what you need.

Return to Chemmel at the Guild who'll give you the recipe for the Memory Charm. Now go to the workbench to craft the item. After you're done, speak with Elke to give him the charm. Chemmel will leave as well, so we'll check up on Elke in the meantime. Head to the Magician's Academy in the Capital City to see the kid ace the exam. Chemmel will appear to finish the quest and give you the Fledgling rank.
