Alright, so you want to get into carpentry in My Time at Portia? It's a pretty chill life, honestly. You'll be working with logs to whip up all sorts of wood items, from tools to decorations. Your main tool for this job is the Saw, and the master you'll be looking up to is Daiku.

Life Quest: A Comfy Sofa, Specially Made

First things first, you'll need to meet up with Daiku, the Carpenter Life Master. He's a bit busy, so another apprentice named Mezza will step in to guide you. She'll tell you that you need logs to make lumber, and the best place to get them is the Woodcutter Guild, which is just north of your current location.

Head over there and chat with Chopin outside the Woodcutter Guild hut. He'll hook you up with some Oak Logs. Once you've got those, head back to Daiku. He'll then teach you the recipe for Oak Lumber. Now it's time to get crafting!

Carpentry Minigame

When you start crafting, you'll jump into a minigame. Don't sweat it, it's pretty straightforward. You've got a timer ticking down and a gauge you need to fill up to 100%. You'll do this by pressing the button prompts that pop up and moving around the workbench using the directional buttons. Pay attention to the timing – the quicker you are, the better the quality of the item you'll produce. Every now and then, a special action will pop up, asking you to Tap, Hold, or Spin. Just follow the on-screen cues, and once the bar is full, your item will be ready!

After you finish your first crafting session, Daiku will give you another task. This time, it's for a woman named Mama, and you'll need to find her in the Capital City for more details. So, make your way there. As soon as you cross the bridge into the city, take a left and find the building called the "House of Cats." Inside, you'll find Mama.

Mama wants a special sofa for her cat – a Bespoke Tropical Sofa. To build this, you'll need Fluffy Fabric. Chantille at the Tailor's Guild in Eternia Village should have what you need. So, head back to Eternia Village and make your way to the Tailor's Guild on the east side. Speak with Chantille, and she'll be able to make the Fluffy Fabric for you.

With all the necessary items in hand, return to Mezza at the Guild. You'll build the sofa, complete the minigame, and finish the quest. Congrats, you've earned the Fledgling rank!
