    Chapter 1: The Way of the Ninja
    • Area: Valley of the Shadows
      • Objective: Infiltrate the Fortress. Collect an Elixir. Defeat two Purple Windmill Shuriken ninjas. Search the end of the mountain for a chest. Continue up the hill. Open chests. Defeat more Purple Ninjas. Continue towards the Fortress. Open a chest for a new item. Jump to a branch, swing, and jump to the next ledge. Use a Bird Flip to the upper ledge and prepare for battle. Kill ninjas or escape.

    Area: Ninja Fortress
    • Objective: Find the Save Point. Enter the fortress and defeat enemies. Enter the first room (brown room) and eliminate three enemies. Open a chest for a goodie. Exit to the next room.

    Area: Yellow Room
    • About 10-12 Purple ninjas will drop from the ceiling. Use downward wall strikes to avoid grabs. Use the Ultimate Technique (UT) when clear to kill them.

    Area: Storage Hall
    • Three White ninjas are waiting on the right side. Eliminate them. Head to the opposite area from where you entered to find a large Samurai statue holding a Key Item. Collect the Elixirs next to the statue. Exit the hall to the next area.

    Area: Tatami Room
    • LIVES OF THE THOUSAND GODS #1: Open a well-hidden chest next to the door to find this item, which increases your health bar. Defeat enemies that jump down from the ceiling, using the On-Land Charge move. Open a chest to obtain a FLYING SWALLOW Scroll. Exit the room by cutting the scroll on the wall next to the large pot.

    Area: Dojo Room
    • Avoid the trapdoor. Defeat 10-12 Purple and White Ninjas that appear from rotating walls. Head past the trapdoor towards the wall scroll and cut it down to reveal a small doorway. Enter to find the Save Point. Save your game. Enter back into the Dojo room and fall through the trapdoor into the cave below.

    Area: Underground Storage House
    • Objective: Find the FANGS OF THE SAMURAI. Do not open the two chests, as they contain Bats. Destroy fire posts and jump back to the upper ledge. Grab Ayane's Kunai if desired. Destroy two enemies and enter back inside. Open the lone chest to find the FANGS OF THE SAMURAI.

    Area: Tatami Room / Storage Hall
    • Objective: Retrieve the KEY OF COURAGE. Jump down to the Tatami Room and go back into the Storage Hall. Place the FANGS onto the Samurai statue to obtain the KEY OF COURAGE. Head back to the Save Point and save your game.

    Objective: Defeat Murai
    • Head up the stairs towards the walkway. Eliminate two ninjas. Use the Key Of Courage on the next door to unlock it and enter.
Tips
  • The walkthrough provided is specifically for Very Hard Mode, as Key Items and Weapons are rearranged.
  • Abuse the downward wall strike in the Yellow Room to avoid cheap grabs from ninjas.
