Discover key gameplay changes and omissions between the Xbox and PS3 versions of Ninja Gaiden 4, including altered puzzles, item locations, and boss encounters.

This guide details the differences between the Xbox and PlayStation 3 versions of Ninja Gaiden 4, focusing on gameplay changes, puzzle deletions, and item relocations across various chapters.

Chapter 10 Gameplay Changes:

Xbox Version: At Drawbridge Square, Ryu can go through Moat Road or enter a Blue-jeweled doorway. Entering the door allows Ryu to crack a wall leading to Dworku Alleyway. After clearing the Military Gate, the Tomahawk Chopper attacks Ryu with bullets and bombs before flying off. Ryu must then shoot an RPG soldier in an adjacent building. After the soldier's defeat, the STRONGBOW is found in the same room. Ryu retrieves the STRONGBOW at Skull Gate, shoots a medallion above the Military Gate to open it, and ends the chapter.

PS3 Version: The Blue-jeweled doorway is blocked by an Armored car, forcing Ryu through Moat Road. After clearing the Military Gate, an RPG soldier emerges in an adjacent building. Defeating the soldier rewards Ryu with the STRONGBOW. Upon obtaining the item, Ryu faces Alternator. After Alternator is defeated, the Military Gates open, ending the chapter.

Chapter 11 Puzzle Omissions:

Xbox Version: In the Warehouse, Ryu needed to turn on the lights to activate power, then press a red button switch between trains to activate hanging platforms.

PS3 Version: Ryu only needs to activate the lights to activate everything in the warehouse.

Chapter 13 Puzzle Deletions #1:

Xbox Version: Underwater, Ryu's vision darkened, requiring the OWL'S EYE to brighten it. To reach the second Save Point, Ryu had to solve a numeric combination on an underwater doorway.

PS3 Version: The OWL'S EYE is no longer needed for dark underwater areas, and the numeric combination puzzle is removed.

Chapter 13 Puzzle Deletions #2:

Xbox Version: In the second Save Point area of the Moats, Ryu found a large altar near a Save Point. He needed to find two Medallions and place them on the altar to open a doorway across the Moats.

PS3 Version: The Medallion Puzzle is gone. Ryu only needs to find the Triton Key to cross the Moats.

Chapter 15 Deletions:

Xbox Version: After leaving Zarkhan Stadium, Ayane gives Ryu a Kunai Scroll about Muramasa. Visiting Muramasa reveals information about a "Dragon's Eye" for the Dragon Sword.

PS3 Version: Ryu does not receive the Kunai from Ayane, and the doorway to Great Bridge Square is locked.

Chapter 15 Gameplay Changes:

Xbox Version: In the Magma Caverns, Ryu had to collect FOUR of SIX Iron Ore pieces to create the COG OF VIGOOR in the See-Saw Room's boiling pot.

PS3 Version: Ryu automatically creates the COG OF VIGOOR by approaching the boiling pot in the See-Saw Room; no Iron Ore collection is required.

Chapter 15 Deletions:

Xbox Version: After defeating Yotunfrau, Ryu returns to the Magma Caverns to place the COG OF VIGOOR at the door near Muramasa's Statue. This opens a cavern with a Save Point and fire-breathing statues to dodge before reaching the Flame Worm boss. After the battle, Ryu exits through the back of the cavern.

PS3 Version: Placing the COG OF VIGOOR leads directly to the Flame Worm boss battle. After the fight, Ryu exits through the same doorway.

Chapter 15 Location Changes:

Xbox Version: The Flame Worm's lair was a concrete wall with the boss in the center, and Ryu had a full platform to battle on.

PS3 Version: The Flame Worm's lair features multiple wormholes, allowing the boss to emerge from any direction. Ryu battles from a tiny platform.

Chapter 16 Location Changes/Additions:

Xbox Version: Teleporting to Hayabusa Village places Ryu near the entrance. He must traverse to the Graveyard to find the other portal.

PS3 Version: After teleporting from Twin Serpents Plaza, Ryu arrives near the Hayabusa Village Graveyard. Fighting Samurais and Warlocks is required to reach the portal near the village entrance.

Chapter 17 Items Relocation:

Xbox Version: The RAPTOR DIETY Statue was found in the Monk's Room within the Monastery.

PS3 Version: After defeating Spectral Doku, the Labyrinth exit to the Imperial Palace area opens, and the RAPTOR DIETY Statue is located above the exit door.
