Main Mission: Pervading Waters

After the opening scenes, you will receive Nobunaga's other spirit. Use the shrine after advancing past Tokichiro and Mumyo.

Turn around from the shrine and head in the opposite direction. Encounter 3 Saika clan soldiers, each armed with a gun.

At a bridge, turn right into a house, defeat the enemy inside, and open the door for a shortcut back to the shrine.

Cross the bridge into a town-like area. Be aware of enemies on the roofs; defeat them first with headshots to prevent them from blowing a horn and alerting other enemies.

Enter the town, turn left, and go into a house with a corpse to check.

Check the wall ahead for a Nurikabe (a type of yokai). Defeat it or bypass it.

In the next area, find a ladder to access the rooftops. Use this to eliminate remaining enemies on the roofs and below.

Make your way to the furthest house in this section. It has a ladder to the roofs and a small chest nearby. Defeat the enemy here and in the next room to face a named female Saika clan member. You can defeat her by shooting her in the head before grappling.

Open the nearby gate to reach the second shrine.

Speak to Hanbei and advance, then turn left at the fork.

Beware of the Nure-Onna (a snake-like yokai) hiding in the water.

Head to the house ahead to find the 1st Kodama (a small spirit).

Return to the fork and continue. You will reach a large building with a dark realm inside. Enter and kill all enemies, especially the multiheaded one. Approach the lantern; these lanterns spawn infinite Oni bi (fire/lightning yokai), making it a good spot to farm their soul cores.

Destroying the lantern removes the dark realm. Open the chest. On the left side of this building, find a staircase going up.

Once on the balcony, walk past the doorway to some boxes. Break them to find the 2nd Kodama.

Head inside. You can snipe two nearby enemies from the balcony. Inside, you will fight a Gaki (a type of yokai), a Tesso (a type of yokai), and a skeleton soldier. After thoroughly checking the rooms, you will see the room with the skeleton soldier had two other exits.

Take the exit on the right to a ladder going down to a different part of the building's ground floor. Lower the ladder to create a shortcut back to the shrine.

Take the left exit and continue across. You will encounter enemies on the roof, which you can snipe.

Jump off the roof after killing the Gaki, fight a Nure Onna on the ground, and go around the house to find the 3rd Kodama.

Return to the roof via the ladder and take the bridge to your right to the balcony of a large building. Enter and fight the Ubume (a type of yokai). Open the door.

Follow the path to a bridge leading to a house roof. Jump off this roof and go around it to find the 4th Kodama.

Proceed further into this area to open a gate leading to the first shrine.

Head back towards the other end. You will fight two skeleton soldiers. Head towards the fighting to see Katsuie battling an Onyudo (a large yokai). Defeat the Onyudo and speak to Katsuie three times.

If Katsuie joined as an ally, he will leave your party after this. Having him join here is a major factor in unlocking later side missions. If revisiting for this reason, complete the mission to ensure conditions are met.

Head back to where you fought the skeletons. Find a house with a closed door; walk behind it to find a path forward.

Cross the bridge of boats, beware of enemy snipers ahead. Kill them, then walk around the water and two ships to find the 5th Kodama behind boxes.

Head up the stairs. There is a secret path to the right of the bottom of the stairs behind some boxes leading to a corpse to search.

You will reach a 3-way fork. To your left is a house with a door that opens to a shortcut back. Ahead, kill the Tesso. In the house next to it, kill the Gaki inside and on the roof. There is a chest inside.

Nearby, kill a slime (a type of yokai) with fire; another may appear.

Be very careful in the next area as the ground is hard to see. To the left of where the slime was, follow the path across planks to find a Sudama (a small yokai) in a house. To the right of the slime is a small island with a tree; the 6th Kodama is here.

Return to the fork (next to the shortcut house) and cross the large bridge. You will be shot at. Run off the bridge, and a spear-wielding named human enemy will attack. Defeat him, then shoot the snipers.

Once the snipers are down, safely cross the bridge and open the gates to the fort. Use the shrine ahead.

After using the shrine, Katsuie will leave your party if he joined. Talking with him gives you an item.

Take the path to the right. The building ahead has a dark realm around it. The lantern next to it is a Koroka (a type of yokai) in disguise; kill it. Proceed around the building and defeat the Onyudo here. There is a chest on the platform.
