Ace the Medali Gym test and battle Larry in Pokémon Scarlet! Get tips on his Pokémon, weaknesses, and the rewards you'll earn.

Alright, so you've made it to Medali City! This Gym is a bit different – it's all about figuring out a secret menu item before you can even challenge the Gym Leader. Let's get you through this.

Gym Test: Order the Secret Menu Item

First things first, you can't just walk up and battle Larry. You've got a little scavenger hunt to do. You need to find and battle three other challengers around the area. Each one will give you a clue about the secret menu item. Once you've got all three clues, head over to the Treasure Eatery. Talk to the waiter and use the clues to order the correct secret dish. The correct order is: Medium-serving grilled rice balls, Fire Blast style with fresh lemon on the side. Get that right, and the Gym battle will begin!

Gym Battle: Larry the Normal-type Specialist

Larry's got a team of Normal-type Pokémon, so your best bet is to bring out your strongest Fighting-type Pokémon. They'll have a type advantage and deal super effective damage.

Larry's Team:

• Komala (Lv. 35)
• Dudunsparce (Lv. 35)
• Staraptor (Lv. 36) with Tera-type Normal

Important Note: Be super careful when battling Larry's Staraptor. While it's a Flying-type, its Tera-type is Normal. However, it can still use Flying-type moves. Since Flying is super effective against Fighting-types, your Pokémon could be in trouble if you're not careful. It might be worth switching to a different type or ensuring your Fighting-type has good defenses.

Once you defeat Larry, you'll earn your Gym Badge, which is awesome! Plus, you'll get some great items:

• TM025 Facade
• 6,480 prize money

And the best part? Pokémon up to Level 45 will now be easier to catch and will obey you without question. Huge!

Rival Battle: Nemona Steps In!

Just when you thought it was over, Nemona shows up for a friendly battle right after you beat Larry. Don't worry, though – your Pokémon will be fully healed before this fight starts.

Nemona's Team:

• Lycanroc (Lv. 36)
• Goomy (Lv. 36)
• Pawmo (Lv. 36)
• Your rival's starter's final evolution (Lv. 37)

Type Matchups Against Nemona:

• Against Lycanroc: Use Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel, or Water types.
• Against Goomy: Dragon, Fairy, or Ice types are good choices. Just be cautious with Dragon-types, as Goomy can be tricky.
• Against Pawmo: Ground, Fairy, or Psychic types will do the trick.
• Against the starter's final evolution: This one is weak against your starter Pokémon, so use your own starter for an easy win!

After you defeat Nemona, you'll receive TM171 Tera Blast. Nice haul!
