Part 17

After a short cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (an in-game cinematic), you will face Mahasti.

Mahasti has a devastating long combo strike that can be blocked and countered.

Beware of her kick, which bypasses blocks and can knock you off the rooftop to your doom.

Mahasti also blocks most attacks and counters counter-strikes.

In her first state, use the Aerial Landing Slash, Counter-Attack, and slow-motion combinations against her. Save your sand (a resource used for special abilities).

Eventually, your blades will lock. Press B repeatedly to drive her back.

Your blades will lock again, and she will overpower you, forcing a transformation into the Dark Prince for the second half of the battle.

As the Dark Prince, Mahasti will flee from you. Chase her around the buildings and activate slow-motion when you see her to land multiple hits before she escapes.

Between Mahasti's buildings, you will encounter Illusion enemies. Kill them to replenish your health and gain sand for slow-motion.

When Mahasti reaches critical health, she will jump one last time. Engage in a final blade clash.

Overpower Mahasti by pressing B rapidly to defeat her.

From the starting rooftop, smash a pot to the right for sand.

Jump from the platform edge to a curtain, then jump at the bottom to reach a ledge.

Move right along the ledge past the corner, then jump to the next platform.

Follow the hallway, smashing a pot for sand along the way.

At the platform's edge, jump to the ledge across from you.

Climb up, jump, and climb again to the ledge above, then move right along the corner.

Use the Landscape Camera (a view option) if desired, then jump and chain-swing to a beam.

Jump from the beam forward to the next platform.

Smash objects for sand, then turn left and run along the wall to the right.

Jump from shutter (a movable panel) to shutter to reach a ledge.

Shimmy right along the ledge, drop down, then move right to reach the platform.

Run along the wall to your left and chain-swing on the torch to reach the next platform.

Turn right and prepare for a fight.

Engage in Free-Form Fighting (a combat system) against a group of Thralls and Reptus.

After defeating them, head to the upper left corner from where you entered.

Run up the wall, jump, and chain-swing to the beam above.

Move along the beam to reach the next platform.

Turn around, run along the wall to the right, chain-swing from the torch, and jump from shutter to shutter to reach a ledge.

Shimmy right along the ledge and around the corner, then jump to the next platform.

Smash objects for sand, then climb into the window.

Go right, then left. Use the Landscape Camera if desired.

Run along the wall to the right and jump to chain-swing to another ledge.

Shimmy right along the ledge, then jump and chain-swing to a suspended chain.

Descend the chain to the bottom and use a Speed Kill (a stealth takedown) on the Sand Guard beneath.

Drop from the chain and sneak up on the other Sand Guard to perform another Speed Kill.

Go left and run up the wall to hit a pressure plate.

Run through the open door to your right before it closes.

Go forward and hide in the alcove on the left just before the alley's corner.

Wait for a Sand Guard to approach and perform a Speed Kill when he passes.

Turn left around the corner, roll under a hole, and make another left.

Smash the obstacles, make one more left, and turn through the doorway to reach a pool of the Water of Life.

You will transform back into the Prince.

Use the fountain if desired.

Climb a wooden structure in the upper left corner to its midsection.

Run along the wall to the left, jumping at the end to reach the next platform.

Pull the crank ahead of you, then jump back to the floor.

Pull the wooden structure along the grooves in the floor to the end.

Climb to the beam on top of the structure and jump back to the platform.

Pull the crank back into position.

Jump back to the beam and jump to the new gap ahead.

Climb the gap, turn around, and jump across to the next level of beams.

Follow the center beam to the end, then jump to the next gap.

Climb the gap, turn, and jump to another set of beams.

Position yourself directly above one Sand Guard when he is closest to the other and initiate a double Speed Kill.

Push the crank.

Run away from the crank toward the gap and jump to grab the ledge above the newly opened door.

Wait for the patrolling Sand Guard to turn away, then drop to his level and Speed Kill him.

Go through the door, turn left, and run along the wall on the right to a shutter.

Jump from shutter to shutter to reach the next platform.

Go through the next doorway to activate a cutscene.

Use the Landscape Camera if desired.

Go to the edge of the platform, run along the left wall, and jump at the end to reach... (path continues in next section).
