Follow this Quake II walkthrough to destroy the security grid, find the blue Key Card, and access the Detention Center. Includes tips for combat and item locations.

Walkthrough

    Head right, grab shells, and descend stairs.

    Continue through the doorway to defeat a Tank guarding the blue Key Card door.

    Take the Bandolier (increases ammo capacity) from the Tank's body.

    Go down the stairs on the left, follow the corridor to more stairs, and descend.

    Defeat a Gladiator, then take the blue Key Card. Your secondary objective will update.

    (Optional) If you need armor, enter the watery area past the card.

    Return to the blue Key Card door and proceed through. Your secondary objective will update again.

    Exit outside. To the right is the door requiring the red Key Card. Straight ahead is an elevator. To the left is a closed door.

    Step onto the elevator and ride it up.

    Defeat the Gladiator across the way and the Gunner below.

    Drop down to collect the Chain Gun and associated ammo.

    Drop off the ledge and enter the door on the right.

    Proceed down the corridor on the right. A Berserker will charge; evade it down the stairs.

    Press the button on the wall to the right of the stairs.

    Go up the stairs and use the elevated position to defeat the Gladiator below.

    Drop down to where the Gladiator was. You will see Marines locked in cells.

    Press the buttons on the walls next to the cells to open them and collect ammo and health. (Some Marines may leave ammo if killed).

    Go through the doorway and press the green button.

    Proceed left or right to encounter a Medic.
  20. 20
    Enter the door with the green light to end the level.

  • The Bandolier increases the amount of ammo you can carry.
