Alright, let's get this done. Our main objective here in Quake II is to infiltrate and absolutely wreck the Strogg main reactor. We've also got a secondary goal: find this reactor, expose its core, and make sure it stays exposed. Oh, and there's one secret area to find, so keep your eyes peeled!

Walkthrough

    You'll start off facing a couple of Gunners. Take 'em out, then head down the corridor to your left. Going right here leads to a locked door that needs the Data CD, so we'll come back to that later.

    Continue down the left corridor and waste another Gladiator. After it's down, go through the door right behind where it was.

    Follow this heavily infested corridor until you reach some stairs. Head down them and clear out all the cyborgs hanging around. This should open up a gate leading to the Data CD. Go grab it!

    Once you snag the CD, more enemies will show up. Head back up towards where the Iron Maiden was – you'll find some Body Armor there, giving you a nice 100 armor boost.

    Now, go down the corridor directly across from where you found the CD. Head through the next door.

    Kill the Gladiator you encounter, then go through the door on its right.

    As soon as this door opens, shoot the wall in front of you. This will reveal a secret area! Climb up the ladder inside for a couple of Armor Shards and an Adrenaline boost.

    Head back down the ladder and back through the door you just came from. Straight ahead from here is the Toxic Waste Dump, but we can't access that yet. So, backtrack to that door that required the Data CD and head on through.

    Inside, kill a couple of Gladiators. One of them will drop a Quad Damage power-up – grab it! Continue through the corridor, which is booby-trapped with lasers, and take out all the Gunners waiting at the end.

    Head right from the Gunners and hop on the platform. Ride it up, then continue along until you reach a corridor on your left. Keep going down this corridor until you find an elevator. Hop on and take it down.

    Once you're down, head through the corridor and go through the door. You're now at the reactor core!

    Pull the lever on the left side of the room. This will expose the core, and your secondary objective will update.

    Climb down the ladder next to the lever. Down here, you'll see two corridors, one on each side, and a platform leading up to a door for the Big Gun area. You can't open that door yet, so don't worry about it.

    Take the corridor on the left. (The one on the right leads back to that force field that was blocking a door earlier – it's disabled now, but there's nothing new there for us.)

    Head through the door marked with an exit sign. You've made it!
Tips
  • Don't forget to grab that Quad Damage power-up after killing the Gladiators in the laser corridor – it'll make dealing with the Gunners at the end much easier.
  • Keep an eye out for that secret area right after you get the Data CD. The Armor Shards and Adrenaline can be a lifesaver.
  • Remember that the locked door requiring the Data CD is on the right side of the initial corridor. You'll need to backtrack to it after grabbing the CD.
