Destroy the Black Hole Generator in Quake II

Alright, let's get this done. The main goal here is to destroy the Black Hole Generator, but we've also got a couple of secondary objectives: shutting off the CPU Core's coolant and taking out the generator's computers. We're looking for 2 secret areas, but don't worry if you miss them, the main path is straightforward.

Walkthrough

You'll start and see a big blue spinning object to your left. Head towards the Combat Suit, then go through the door to its right. Follow the corridor into a room with doors on the left and right. Take the left door.

Inside, you'll find Tanks on both sides. Deal with them, then follow the corridor around into another large room. Clear out all the Strogg in here and go through the door.

Step onto the elevator and ride it up. You'll be in front of a pipe with a valve. Turn this valve to shut down chamber number one.

Drop back down into the room below and backtrack to the area that led you here. Now, go through the door on the right that you didn't take before.

Take out the Tanks waiting on either side of you. Follow the corridor around into another room and go through the door.

Ride the elevator up again. Turn the valve on the pipe in front of you to shut down chamber number two.

Head through the door on the other side of the catwalk you're on. You'll enter a circular room. Go right and take the first door on the right.

Follow the corridor around, and you'll find yourself in a room where the exit is blocked by a force field. Go up both elevators in this room.

At the top of the elevators, turn the two valves to shut down the CPU. Your secondary objective will update – now we need to turn off the Black Hole Generator Computers.

The exit is still blocked by that force field. Go back through the door you came in through. Head right and take the second door on the right – it was locked before, but it has red and green lights and leads into the launch station.

Follow the corridor and enter a room filled with Guards. Take them out, then destroy the computers on your left and right. This completes your main mission objective!

Look for a hole in the wall you blew out – you can snag another Power Shield in there. Now, make your way back to the exit. It's no longer blocked by a force field, so head on through to the next level.
