Alright, we're heading back into the Upper Palace in Quake II. This time, our main goal is to mess with the Strogg leader's communication system. We've also got a few side quests: snagging a Data CD, reprogramming a data spinner, and shutting down a big communications laser. Oh, and keep an eye out for secret areas – we're aiming for at least one this time!

Walkthrough

    First things first, take out the guards right in front of you. Once they're down, head into the room they were guarding. You'll see two buttons, one on your left and one on your right, with a force field blocking a corridor next to each. Hit the button on the right.

    Follow the corridor that opens up into a large room. Clear out all the Strogg in here. Then, look for a corridor on the right side of the room.

    Up ahead, you'll see a yellow switch above you. Shoot it to disable a nasty trap that's shooting at you.

    Now, head up the stairs on the right and go through the door. You'll find yourself in a big circular room with blue lights everywhere. Look for a square that seems a bit out of place. Go through the wall that lowers there – this is where you'll need that Security Pass you picked up earlier.

    Follow the narrow corridor until you find some Adrenaline. Nearby, there's a console; press the button on it to deactivate the yellow force fields blocking your path.

    Head back the way you came, down to where you first entered this area. Go through the door on the right and step onto the elevator.

    At the top, go through the door, and then through the next door on the left. Clear out any Strogg you find here.

    Head down the stairs on the right and keep going. You'll see two doors ahead – go through the one on the left, not the right one.

    Continue on this path, and you'll find the Data CD. Grab it, and your objective will update.

    Now, you need to backtrack all the way to the Lower Palace, to that big computer where you inserted the Data Spinner earlier. Walk up to the right side of the computer to reprogram the spinner. It'll appear in front of you, so pick it up.

    You'll get a new objective: head back into the Upper Palace to shut down the communications laser. Go back into the Upper Palace the same way you came to reach the computer, and return to where you found the Data CD.

    Step onto the platform where the Data CD was. A pillar will lower, revealing a small room. Go inside and use the computer there to shut down the communications laser. Your objectives will update again – now you just need to exit the palace.

    Head through the door on the left and follow the corridor. Don't take the first left; keep going straight until you cross some lava.

    Use the console you see ahead to open the exit to your left. Hop through, and you're out!
