Your mission: destroy the security grid surrounding the industrial region and its control computer. Follow this guide to navigate lasers, defeat a Tank Commander boss, and complete your objective in Quake II.

Alright, let's get this done. Your main goal here is to take down the security grid surrounding the industrial region. As a bonus, we'll also hunt down and destroy the grid control computer itself. No secret areas to worry about this time, so let's focus on the main path.

You'll start by heading straight through a corridor. Follow it until you reach a door, then head up the stairs on your left. This area should feel familiar. Keep going, down some more stairs, and head straight for the pyramid. Interact with the console there to insert the key, and the pyramid will open up. Ride the elevator down, go through the door, and hit the button to take another elevator ride that'll drop you right into Grid Control.

Once you're in, head up the lighted staircase in front of you. To your left and right, you'll see pillars with disappearing lasers. You can carefully weave between them to grab some armor and a Grenade Launcher – definitely worth the risk if you need it. After that, head down either corridor at the top of the stairs and choose left or right. You'll encounter more laser beams; just wait for them to disappear and slowly make your way down the corridor.

Once you're safely past the lasers, step onto either elevator on the left or right. As soon as you arrive, a Tank will be waiting. Take it out quickly! Right after that, you'll need to deal with another Tank. The ground's gonna start shaking, and that means our first boss is making an entrance: a Tank Commander. Your best bet here is to use the Hyper Blaster and strafe like crazy to avoid its attacks. Once the commander is down, climb down the ladder in the middle of the arena. Follow the pipe along the ceiling until you reach a large blue laser. Step onto the elevator across from the laser and ride it up.

You'll see a door in front of you, but it's blocked by a force field. Turn around and look for a green button. Press it, and it'll reveal a big blue diamond laser thing. Blast that to bits, and you'll finally complete your main mission objective! The door that was blocked by the force field is now open. Just head down that corridor to exit the area.
