Meet the key characters in Resident Evil 2 (1998), from Robert Kendo to William Birkin. Learn their roles and fates in Raccoon City.

Hey there! Resident Evil 2 is packed with characters, some friendly, some not-so-much, and most of them don't make it out of Raccoon City alive. Let's quickly go over the important folks you'll run into and what their deal is.

Robert Kendo is the guy who owns the gun shop you'll visit early on. He's one of the first people you meet, but sadly, his story doesn't have a happy ending.

Then there's Marvin Branagh. He's one of the few RPD cops who survived the initial outbreak. You'll need to meet him to grab a key that unlocks some doors, but keep an eye out, because later on, you'll actually have to fight him.

Ben Bertolucci is a bit of a mystery. You'll find him hiding out in the RPD station's prison area. It seems like he's there for safety, not because he's actually a prisoner.

Brian Irons is the Chief of Police. Rumor has it he's been working with Umbrella all along. They apparently destroyed his town, which drove him completely insane. He ended up killing everyone in the city, but William Birkin eventually gets his revenge on him in a pretty brutal way.

Speaking of William Birkin, he's Sherry's dad and a super-talented scientist. He's the brains behind the G-virus and set up a secret lab under the Police Station for his experiments. Umbrella wants his virus badly, but he refused to hand it over. They sent a team to get it and kill him, but before he died, he injected himself with the G-virus. This turned him into a monstrous, insane being who started killing everyone around him.

And finally, there's Annette Birkin, Sherry's mom. She was the link between her husband and Umbrella. She's usually found wandering around the Sewer and Laboratory areas, trying to protect her husband's G-virus. Unfortunately, William ends up killing her in the end.

Besides these key players, the game also has a 'Health Guide' section that covers how to use the condition screen, the functions of healing items, how to mix herbs, and details on how much damage enemy attacks do.
