Master the mechanics of Resident Evil 9: Requiem, including health systems, detailed crafting recipes for Grace and Leon, and an in-depth look at all difficulty settings.

This guide covers the core mechanics of Resident Evil 9: Requiem, detailing health indicators, crafting systems for both protagonists, and the nuances of each difficulty setting.

Health

Player health is displayed via an ECG trace for Grace and a ¾ circle for Leon. Health is color-coded: green (500 HP or above), amber, and red (below 200 HP). Grace starts with 800 HP, expandable to 1200 HP with Steroids. Leon has 1200 HP from the start. In a danger state, any hit can be fatal. A 'mercy' mechanic is applied:

  • Grace survives with 1 HP if an attack would not reduce her health below -300 HP.
  • Leon takes half damage from attacks that would otherwise reduce his health to 0, though he can still be killed.

Crafting

Players can combine environmental items to create ammunition and healing items. Crafting options differ between Grace and Leon.
