Discover essential tips and strategies for Resident Evil 9: Requiem, covering combat, inventory management, crafting, and character-specific advice for Grace and Leon.

General Tips:

  • You can switch between first-person (Grace default) and third-person (Leon default) viewpoints in the options menu.
  • When playing as Grace, equip a knife to open containers and slash enemies to save ammo. Use the Hemolytic Injector (R2) for a quick kill when enemies are stunned, but hold L1 while using the knife to prevent accidental injector use. L1+R2 performs a strong attack that can stagger zombies.
  • Knives degrade with use. Recycle worn knives (red state) into scrap via the crafting menu instead of letting them break.
  • In the Care Center, break large pots for ammo/scrap and small vases for minor loot. Be cautious of the noise vases make, as it can attract enemies.
  • You don't need to kill every enemy. Sneak past them or shoot them in the knee to stagger and escape. Permanently deal with enemies if you plan to revisit areas frequently.
  • After firing, reload your weapon to ensure a full magazine for the next encounter. Sharpen Leon's hatchet regularly.
  • Leon can parry attacks with L1 at the right time. With a pistol, he can sidestep grabs by shooting (R2) as the enemy attacks, hitting them in the back of the head. With a two-handed weapon, he'll perform a different animation.
  • Upgrading Leon's weapons with a Dot Sight forces a first-person aiming perspective.
  • For Leon's weapons, the Silencer 9 handgun and 990-TAC shotgun are top-tier. The Classic 70 rifle offers good single-shot damage, making it efficient with rifle ammo. Automatic weapons serve as a fallback.
  • Grace should prioritize crafting Hemolytic Injectors with scrap. On Insanity difficulty, Empty Bottles may also be necessary. Keep scrap in your Item Box if you might need a knife without one available.
  • Prioritize crafting Stabilizers with blood and Empty Injectors, and 12.7x55mm ammo with rare metal. Otherwise, use blood for Hemolytic Injectors, Molotov Cocktails, and Bottles of Acid. Avoid crafting handgun ammo unless on Insanity with the efficient recipe. Hemolytic Injectors are instakills on most enemies.
  • Do not use blood for Med Injectors; combine Green Herbs for healing.
  • Steroids (increasing Grace's max health) are less valuable than Stabilizers (increasing damage output), as Grace should focus on avoiding damage rather than tanking it.
  • Ammo is scarce for Leon on difficulties above Casual. Use stealth kills and buy ammo from the supply box when available.

Inventory Management:

  • The best inventory management is to not pick up unnecessary items. Leave herbs, ammo, and disposable items where they are found.
  • For specific challenge runs (e.g.,
