P8 Handgun

The P8 handgun offers a good balance of damage per shot and a generous ammo capacity of 14 rounds per load, with a maximum of 28. Its low critical rate is useful for setting up head stun (a quick melee attack performed after stunning an enemy's head) opportunities. Grenade Launcher

This weapon type is equipped with flash rounds. Flash rounds are effective for instantly killing Plaga enemies or for securing a melee kill on a weakened standard enemy. When fired at the ground, these rounds create a blinding flash that momentarily stuns surrounding enemies, setting them up for a head stun melee. Enemies wearing head armor are immune to this stun effect. A direct hit from a flash round deals 100 damage, so it is recommended to fire at the ground rather than directly at an enemy when trying to save a melee opportunity.

  • Note 1: When the Reversal skill is equipped and your character is at low (red) health, flash rounds can be used to set up deathblow melees (a powerful finishing melee attack) on surrounding enemies not wearing masks. This is particularly effective with HUNK due to his fast Side Kick deathblow melee.
  • Note 2: If a flash round is fired very close to your character, or directly in front of them, the character will raise an arm to shield themselves from the blast. During this animation, the character is momentarily invincible to attacks. However, this animation is shorter than the flinch animation from explosive or electric rounds, so it should not be relied upon for defense.

AK74

The AK74 machine gun is the most damaging machine gun available, capable of quickly damaging bosses. Its primary drawback is significant recoil, which can affect shot accuracy. It also has a lengthy reload animation, though this can be mitigated by equipping a skill that provides a level 3 quick reload effect, bypassing the animation entirely. While the AK74 lacks piercing capabilities, this is less of an issue as it is paired with a weapon set that includes a piercing handgun.
