Learn how high land values and zone distance impact housing costs in SimCity and how to manage them.

Housing costs can become too high for several reasons. One primary cause is excessively high land values within your city. Another significant factor is the distance between your Residential Zones and your Commercial Zones and Industrial Zones. To mitigate this, ensure you create areas with lower land values to provide options for your citizens. Additionally, make sure that your zones are appropriately placed near each other so Sims have suitable places to travel to.

While high housing costs can lead to complaints, it is generally a beneficial problem to have, as its positive aspects outweigh the negative feedback. However, this issue can be detrimental to Challenge Scenarios, as it negatively affects the overall score.
