Land Reclamation Present

Learn how to use the Land Reclamation Present in SimCity to add land, create high value zones, and build in water. Avoid common pitfalls.

The Land Reclamation Present can be used to add land to your city. It can be placed anywhere, as long as there are no existing buildings or structures beneath it, including Rail or Power Lines in water. A strategic use is to place it along the waterline next to a high-value property. This allows you to build another zone or two of the same type, potentially causing another high-value zone to rise, especially since waterfront property commands high land values. This can also help create a TOP(s) (a type of high-value building).

Alternatively, you can build the Land Reclamation Present in the middle of water and then construct Commercial Zone(s) or Residential Zone(s) on the newly created land. The resulting high land values can lead to higher-ranking buildings. However, be cautious as this option may prove too expensive, and the zones might not fully develop.
