Navigate the Star Forge in Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. Learn party choices, shield strategies, and how alignment affects your journey.
Walkthrough
- 1Return to the elder encampment and give the data to the elder. Dark players should select the option to never destroy the Star Forge.
- 2Light and dark players return to the Ebon Hawk and discuss events in the temple.
- 3Light players repair the engine and use the galaxy map to travel to the Star Forge.
- 4Dark players will face opposition from party members. Carth will leave, and Mission will remain. To achieve maximum evil, use the Force to persuade Zaalbar to kill Mission. If you attack Mission directly, you will have to kill Zaalbar as well.
- 5After dealing with party conflicts, repair the engine, use the Galaxy Map, and select the Star Forge.
- 6Upon arrival at the Star Forge, you will receive different dialogue based on your chosen alignment before entering the area.
Tips
- The Star Forge is the most challenging area; keep moving and only stop in designated safe zones to heal or regenerate Force Points. Stopping elsewhere will likely result in death.
- Do not explore the entire map; prioritize reaching the next area quickly, even if it means leaving party members behind temporarily.
- Equip your most powerful melee and energy shields, such as the Verpine Prototype Shield and Mandalorian Power Shield, on yourself and your party. Save 2-3 charges of each shield for the final encounter with Malak.
- To heal, pause the game, select a medpac, and resume movement. Avoid using the Force power Heal unless absolutely necessary and in safe zones, as it can deplete Force Points quickly.
- Equip items that grant immunity to mind-affecting effects, like a Nerve Amplifier Belt or Calo Nord's battle armor upgrades, on all non-Jedi Sentinel party members to prevent them from being incapacitated.
- Choose your party wisely as it cannot be changed. Light players must select Jolee and Juhani. Dark players must choose Canderous for his healing ability; selecting HK-47 will make the Star Forge significantly harder. Bastila can use the Force power Heal, but use it sparingly.
- Save your game after completing each area of the Star Forge.
- Warning: Dark characters should avoid using Zaalbar on the Star Forge, as a specific choice involving Mission can lead to negative consequences if he is present.
