Alright, so you're starting out in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and you're probably wondering about weapons. The best advice right now is simple: just stick with what your character is currently equipped with. Don't go crazy trying to find new gear just yet.

You'll find a workbench and a footlocker in your apartment. Think of the workbench as your go-to spot for upgrades. You can tinker with your swords, lightsabers, blasters, armor – basically, any piece of gear you find. You can either buy upgrade components or, more likely at this stage, loot them off fallen enemies.

Quick Tip: Keep an eye on your party members! Talking to them is super important because it unlocks side quests. When you see a name followed by something like Carth!4, that means you should chat with Carth for the fourth time. I'll give you a heads-up on which conversation to pick if it matters, but usually, it's pretty straightforward.

If you're having trouble getting a party member to open up, try leaving your hideout and coming back, or use the fast travel system. Sometimes, just leveling up or finishing a quest can also trigger those conversations.
