Walkthrough
  1. 1
    In the Tower of Salvation (Sylvarant), approach Yggdrasill.

    Use a Magic Lens on Yggdrasill to put its stats on the Monster List.
  3. 3
    After using the Magic Lens, you can let down the controller as the battle is designed to be impossible to win conventionally.

    After the battle, watch the subsequent cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically).

    Head East, North, and down the stairs.

    In the next room, the machine to your South is a Refresher.

    Continue East, save your game, and go up the stairs.

    In the next room, change the function of your Sorcerer's Ring.

    Go up the stairs West of the pedestal, head South, and go down the next set of stairs.

    Move the brown block South 1 time and West 1 time.

    Go East and move the other brown block 1 time North, 7 times West, and 1 time South.

    Go up the stairs, cross the blocks, and push the grey block down.

    Move the grey block East of the blue panel into the opening on the wall.

    Move both brown blocks into the opening Southwest of where you placed the grey block.

    Cross the bridges of blocks and open the chests to obtain the 'Straw Hat' and 'EX Gem Lv2'.

    Move the grey block onto the blue panel to reveal a set of stairs.

    Place the brown boxes on the Northeast and Southeast corners of the brown square drawn on the floor.

    Go down the stairs you previously revealed.

    Go down the stairs and head East at the fork.

    Push the metal block down into the water.

    On the West side, use the Sorcerer's Ring on the blue pillar to the North.

    Examine the machine South of you.

    Cross the bridge made with the blocks.

    Use your Sorcerer's Ring on the blue pillar at the South of the room and examine the machine up the stairs.

    Behind this machine, on the lower level, find the 'Protect Ring' in a hidden chest.

    Go to the canal and down the stairs.

    Push the metal block onto the blue panel and shoot the blue pillar just West of you.

    Go through the door at the South end of the room.

    Watch the following cutscene.

    Move West, then North to trigger another scene.

    Proceed to Tethe'alla.

  • Yggdrasill is strong against Light.
  • The battle is technically impossible to win by normal means.
