Master the challenging Morlia Gallery in Tales of Phantasia. Get tips on enemy strategies, item locations, and dungeon navigation to survive this tough extra dungeon.
Walkthrough
- 1To access Morlia Gallery, descend through the central stairs in the first cave room to reach floor 9. If you haven't activated shortcuts, you may need to revisit Morlia Gallery of the past.
- 2On floor 9, proceed to the upper right. Before the spikes, you'll find NPCs: a woman in blue sells items, and a woman in green offers free rest.
- 3Between the soldiers, locate a Memory Circle to save your progress.
- 4Proceed left. A cutscene will trigger where your Holy Bottles break, potentially breaking Panacea Bottles if you don't have spares.
- 5Level up your characters, including your 5th party member, to at least level 70 before continuing.
- 6Navigate through the dungeon by following a pattern of descending stairs between hanging bridges, alternating between left and right paths.
- 7On floor 16, after descending stairs between hanging bridges, you'll enter a miasma-filled room with three treasure chests containing Cheese, Sage, and a Dark Bottle.
- 8At the bottom of this area, a scene occurs where Klaus can make a pact with Chameleon using the Emerald Ring, allowing Klaus to summon it.
- 9Return to floor 16 and proceed right across hanging bridges. You'll encounter a soldier who comments on the scenery.
- 10In the next screen, solve a switch puzzle: step on the switches in the order 1, 2, 3, 4, 2 (from left to right) to open the south door. Be aware that the furthest right switch teleports you to the dungeon's entrance.
- 11Floor 18 is described as having a different pattern of stairs and bridges.
- 12Specific treasure chests are found throughout the dungeon:
- 13Orange Gummi, Dark Bottle, Vegetable, Yellow Cake (after descending stairs on floor 12).
- 14Spectacles (in the next area after the floor 12 chests).
- 15Flare Bottle and Life Bottle (bottom left and bottom right respectively, after Spectacles).
- 16Cheese, Sage, Dark Bottle (on floor 16 in the miasma room).
Tips
- Big Foot: Avoid close combat. Attack with spellcasters to prevent being hit by their spike attack. They may drop Ivory, useful for trading.
- Sokram: Resembles Maxwell. Avoid attacking when it transforms into a ball.
- Ice Element: Attack frequently with Cress or they will cast Tidal Wave, which heals them. Avoid using Tidal Wave yourself.
- Manticore and Beast Master: Have Mint heal or use Recover to cure petrification from the Manticore. Attack constantly to prevent the Beast Master from casting damaging spells.
- Meigasu and Arakoshira: Do not approach Meigasu when it's in its protective bubble, as it's immune to physical attacks. Attack Meigasu with casters and Arakoshira with Cress.
- Wolf Beast: A difficult enemy with high HP. Aim to defeat it for a ?Weapon that can be forged into the Demon Hand. Once obtained, it's advisable to flee from further encounters.
- Urchin: Extremely dangerous. Avoid at all costs; it's a one-hit KO if it touches you, and there's no effective way to harm it.
- Beast Master and Boar Boar: Use Techs to keep Boar Boars at bay while casters handle the Beast Master. Cress and Chester should focus on the Boar Boars. The Beast Master can drop a ?BOW for the Berserker Bow.
- Hell Master and Yoimel: Prioritize attacking the Hell Master with Cress; casters can handle the Yoimels.
- Banshee and Shadow Flower: Target Shadow Flowers first due to their low HP. Mint should use Recover to cure paralysis. Avoid Tidal Wave; use Explode instead.
- Isis: Attack with Cress. Keep hitting the air when she disappears until she reappears. Use Aska if you have Klaus. She may drop a ?SWORD for the Saint's Rapier.
- Potential drops from enemies include Ivory, ?Weapon (for Demon Hand), ?BOW (for Berserker Bow), and ?SWORD (for Saint's Rapier).
- Treasure chests contain items like Orange Gummi, Dark Bottle, Vegetable, Yellow Cake, Spectacles, Flare Bottle, and Life Bottle.
- Klaus can learn the summon Chameleon after a pact is made.
