Complete the Nancy & Erwin Pt. 2 side quest in Tales of Phantasia. Find Erwin, solve puzzles, and defeat Demitel.
Walkthrough
- 1Go to the inn and speak with Nancy, located at the top left of the room.
- 2She will tell you Erwin is at the company building and ask you to find him.
- 3Proceed to the company building on the upper left side of town.
- 4Find Erwin, who has blue hair, on the first floor and tell him to meet Nancy.
- 5Erwin will agree to meet Nancy at the fountain.
- 6On the second floor of the company building, find an exit to a balcony containing a chest with a Protect Ring. Equip it to boost defense.
- 7Return to Nancy at the inn and inform her that Erwin will meet her at the fountain.
- 8Nancy will then depart the inn.
- 9Go to the fountain and speak with Nancy. Erwin will soon arrive, and they will reconcile.
- 10Leave town and re-enter.
- 11Go to the company building and head to the upper floor to find Nancy and Erwin arguing with Erwin’s dad.
- 12After they run off, search for Erwin behind some columns above the fountain.
- 13Say yes to cheer him up.
- 14Exit town and travel across the bridge to the right, following the path to a building.
- 15Speak with the woman next to the chimney in this building. She will provide information about Demitel, stating he has gone to an isolated island accessible only by boat.
- 16Go to the second floor via the stairs at the top left of the house.
- 17Travel to the far left and speak with the mayor of Alvanista, who is Lenias’ twin brother and wishes to meet Lenias.
- 18Head to the upper right part of town, past the fountain, to reach the pier.
- 19Go to the right on the pier and board the ship. Speak with the captain.
- 20The captain will charge 400 Gald per passenger, totaling 1,600 Gald for four passengers.
- 21After paying, the ship will set sail for the island.
- 22Upon arrival, you can rest and save your progress by entering the ship and going to the lower left door, which leads to a room with a Memory Circle (a save point).
- 23Outside the ship, go to the bottom of the piers. The middle pier has a chest containing a Mixed Gummi. The right pier has a chest containing a ? Book. Using a Rune Bottle on the ? Book yields a Magazine, a weak weapon for Klaus suitable for collection.
- 24Proceed to another area. Going left leads to the world map, but you should go up the stairs.
- 25Before entering the mansion, there is a chest on the left containing Spectacles.
- 26Inside the mansion, go right first and through the bottom door. This room contains chests with an Apple Gummi, a Verbena, a Savory, another Apple Gummi, an Elixir, and 430 Gald. The upper door is locked for now.
- 27Return to the previous room.
- 28Go left to the next corridor. The top door in this corridor leads to a room with a Memory Circle for saving.
- 29Return to the corridor and enter the lower corridor with two doors. The left door is locked. The right door leads to Demitel’s Study.
- 30In Demitel’s Study, go to the upper left part to find a hidden chest containing a Savory.
- 31Examine the wardrobe where the chest was found to obtain a key.
- 32Return to the locked door on the right side of the corridor and unlock it.
- 33Proceed down to the garden and examine the large tree. This triggers a boss fight.
- 34Quickly defeat the tree. Use Klaus’s Sylph and Mint’s First Aid while using your strongest techniques.
- 35After defeating the tree, it will disappear, allowing sunlight to enter the mansion.
- 36Return to the first room in the middle of the mansion. If you need to heal or restore TP (Technical Points), you can go back to the ship south of this room.
- 37The sunlight entering through the window will hit a prism. Examine the prism.
- 38Rotate the prisms by pressing the A button. Rotate the middle prism until it emits light both right and left simultaneously. The left prism should emit light downwards, and the right prism upwards, so that the light reaches both crystal balls.
- 39A scene will play, indicating a door has opened to a set of stairs going down in the bottom left of the room. Descend into the basement.
- 40When the path splits, go left and up to find a chest containing a Rebirth Doll.
- 41Go back and take the right path. Follow the lower path to the right and then go up at the end to find two chests containing a Corsica weapon and an Ahmet Helmet. Equip these on Cress if you did not purchase them in Venezia.
- 42Go back slightly and take the upper path to find a Memory Circle to save your progress.
- 43Proceed up and through the door to confront Demitel.
- 44Demitel will lie about his involvement in the deaths of Rhea’s parents. Rhea will appear to prove his guilt.
- 45Demitel reveals the girl with him is not Rhea, and that Rhea died with her parents. The girl does not respond when asked if Demitel is telling the truth.
- 46A boss fight against Demitel, Lilites, and Golems will commence. Recommended level is 15, as Mint learns Heal by this point.
- 47Prioritize attacking the Lilites first, as they can cast powerful spells.
- 48Manually order Klaus to repeatedly cast Sylph on Demitel.
- 49Spam techniques on any Golems that appear.
- 50Use Life Bottles to revive fallen party members, especially Mint, to ensure continuous healing for Klaus and Cress.
- 51After eliminating the Lilites and Golems, focus on Demitel, preventing him from casting his death spell by constantly attacking.
- 52Upon defeating Demitel, he will drop a ? Book.
- 53A scene will occur where the girl falls down and releases a spirit.
- 54Upon regaining consciousness, the girl reveals her name is Arche. The party then takes her to her father, Bart.
- 55Arche gives you the Ruby and Aq (the source text cuts off here).
