Where to find the Shining Pom in East Crossbell Highway

Shining Poms are rare, elusive monsters in The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, similar to Metal Slimes in Dragon Quest. While not as lucrative as their Dragon Quest counterparts, defeating them is necessary for the [The Usual Suspects] achievement. Unlike regular rare monsters, Shining Poms spawn independently, but their spawn rate is low. Simply zoning in and out of an area is not enough to reset their spawn chance; you must travel to a safe area like Crossbell City. The further the distance between the spawn location and the safe area, the more effort is required to make a specific Shining Pom appear. Always save your game before engaging a Shining Pom, as they can spawn in groups and are prone to fleeing.

The Shining Pom on the East Crossbell Highway spawns in the third screen of the area, specifically north of the bus stop on the road leading to Armorica Village. To reach this area, you must travel from Crossbell City through two screens of the East Crossbell Highway.

The Shining Pom in this area is Level 8. While it yields 256 EXP (ten times that of normal enemies) and 24 Sepith of all types, its primary value is the high chance of dropping U-Material. The EXP gain is minimal at higher levels, and other enemies can be farmed more easily for EXP and U-Material.

An alternative to running from Crossbell City is to wait until later in the game when the bus service resumes, allowing you to travel directly to the bus stop on the third screen of the East Crossbell Highway.
